Which has the greater firepower

Post by AL »

An impI or an ImprII?

The Imp I has less numerous heavy weapons or does it?

3 tl turrets in front of the lower terrace.

2 Quad tl in the brim trench one each side big guns

6 heavy double tl turrets port and stbd

2 hvy ion cannons port and stbd side of the upper hull.

numerous lt tl and laser cannons

Imp II

64 Hvy TL turrets in 8 turrets of 8

no indication of the center line turrets like on an imp I

no large quad guns in the brim trenches. Perhaps some lesser guns but nothing as large as the Isd I in the trenches.

So which one has greater firepower?

Your expert opinions please.

ISD2. They don't appear to be any cheaper, so why would they build them with less firepower?

ISD I has a weaker shield(10% or so) and less guns along with having 2 Squadrens less of Fighters

ISD II has two extra squadrens another 10% stronger shield(30TT strong) and more guns. its unknow how many more guns but its the least of the changes(IE maybe eight extra guns or so)

Bascily the ISD II is the ISD one but improved aka *tweaked

Where do you get this 2 extra squadrons thing? I've only read about the ISD2 having stronger shields, hull, and weaponry.

actually Mr. Bean is correct. The isdI had only 48 fighters and i believe one squadron of tie bombers. Thats on Saxton's page.

i think i have found some more larger guns on the Devastator model and the Avenger model on Saxtons page. It looks like towards the rear of the avenger by the main guns there are maybe 4 or 5 tripple turrets on the terrace structures. Someone check it out and tell me what you think.

Actually the only tangible differences between the ISD-1 and ISD-2 is that they make some design changes.

ISD-1's have 60 TL batteries and 60 ion cannons.

ISD-2's have 50 HTL cannons, 50 HTL batteries, 20 ion cannons.

The individual guns on an ISD-2 are also heavier, but the increased number is achieved by sacrificing some of the ion cannons present on an ISD-1 hull.

Odds are that whatever other changes exist on the ISD-2 vs the ISD-1, are due to similar details.
