Which of those imperial officers is your favorite?

Post by Needa »

Mine is personally Needa, obviously. I think he deserve to win just because he was brave enough to face Vader when he knew he was going to die. PLus he saved probably someone by going himself apologies instead of sending a messenger. Eh! is my hero!

Some might prefer Motti, but I don't know why.

General Tagge may have chance too, but he only predicted that the rebels may study the plans and find a weakness in the Death Star.

Ozzel, mmm too stupid to follow the orders.

Piett, well he survived two movies. Quite good for your average imperial officer. Probably my second choice.

Veers is a competent general, so may be number 3.

No the moffs aren't included, and Thrawn isn't an option. Although the blue skinned one is my favorite of all time, he ain't in the movies, sorry Grand Admiral Thrawn hehe. May be in another poll!

You forgot Jerjerrod. :(

Yeah, he was a brave man, too. He stayed on the DS while all the others were fleeing, and tried to execute the Emperor's last orders until the very end.

Jerjerrov is a moff, not an imperial navy officer if I recall well. He was interesting nevertheless.

He didn't surrender, he just called a truce, and as soon as the NR and YV get done beating each other to pulp, he'll step in

I like Veers. He's got a no-bullshit attitude that I admire. He also scored the only Imperial victory we see in the movies. :P

My favorite Imperial officer was the one Han threw a bomb at and he fell to an exotic death because it's always fun to laugh at.

I had to vote for Ozzel, as the actor who played him partied with my group at a con last year.. (as in, he was the guest of honor, but after his scheduled apearences, he came to our party and hung out with us till the wee hours of the morning. Quite friendly.)

Admiral Firmus Piett is my favorite because of his unwavering professionalism. I also liked General Veers, but he was such a minor character.

Just in general I'm a fan of Piett's. He was an honest officer who did his job right and pretty darn well (he took over the Death Squadron and within an hour was engaged in one of the biggest Imperial victories of the GCW). The New essential guide also firms him up as a quality commander who just ended up being shackled in the engagment that ended his stint in command of the premier ship of the Empire.

I can't believe you consider Hoth to be a big victory. They generally lost. Sure, they overran the base, but the Rebels got away to go to some other base. And wasn't the entire purpose of the battle to destroy the Rebels? Not drive them out of their base? IMO, it was a loss and not a victory. Probably only a morale booster.

I have to say General Veers. He's the only one to be in contact with Vader that didn't seem to fear him at all. Piett is a very close second.

As for Jerjerrod, the movie credits show "Moff Jerjerrod". I just prefer to believe "Commander" was a last minute dialogue change due to the screw-up in Imperial officer uniforms. Of course, Vader could have called him a commander in a strictly literal sense, and not as an officer rank, especially since Jerjerrod doesn't appear to be all that familiar to Vader, as opposed to the officers in the fleet Vader commanded in ESB.

Correction: Veers is the only one since ANH that didn't seem to fear Vader.
