After reading Solo Command, and not being able to fon CoPL, i want to know, Was the real SSD "iron fist" destroyed or was in the "Second death"?

Spoiler:

Remember, the Second Death was 'rebuilt' into a framework an operational SSD. When the Y-Wing pilot entered the nightcloak area around the Second Death, it promptly exploded, causing the Rebels to have no clue what just happened, but giving them reason to believe that the Iron Fist was destroyed. In short, the Second Death died, not the Iron Fist.

Zsinj got away at the end of Solo Command, but Solo was convinced they took out Iron Fist. However, this was not the case...Allston had to write Zsinj escaping because Dave Wolverton had written CoPL beforehand in which Han Solo destroyed Zsinj in the lamest, most craptacular EU space battle ever to be set down on paper. I think after that the Iron Fist went down too.

The Iron Fist was destroyed in some shipyards at Dathomir, that's the 'craptacular' battle Dalton was referring to. The only discrepency is that your guide calls it an ISD when it was really an SSD. Is this guide published or online?

Your both sorta wrong.

In Courtship, when the Falcon arrives at Daithmor there is an SSD (presumably the Iron Fist) docked to the shipyard. Thats apparently Rancor base where she had been taken for repairs after the beating she took in the couple of battles prior to the second death detonating. Then the Falcon followed shortly by the Song Of War arrived. The later happily waltzed right over to the Iron Fist docked helpless and totaly powered down and started bombing the utter crap out of her.

Apparently the damage was so extensive that Zsnji transfered his flag from the Iron fist SSD to an ISD which he renamed.

The Chronology disagrees.

I thought that happened prior to Solo Command and CoPL, and besides, that's not how I remember things.

Zsinj was in command of an ISD named Iron Fist prior to the Emperor's death. After Endor, he struck out on his own, commandeering an SSD and renaming it Iron Fist after his old ship.

IIRC it was a VSD, that Zsinj had, not an ISD.

God Emperor is correct; it was an aging VSD.

As to the craptacular space battle, I agree that it is very lackluster.

That was the one thing that made me hate CoPL above all other EU books.

I think the Chronology was written before Solo Command came out.
But what does it say? Because SOlo Command is preaty clear about the sequence of events.

I have no idea when Solo Command was published, but the Chronolgy was published in 2000.

That after the battle of Sellagis and the Second Death ruse Zsinj returned to Dathomir where the Iron Fist went under reconstruction. It may not have been at full power when it engaged the Hapan fleet, but it was functional, so says the chronology (possibly just a retcon for the Iron Fist suddenly dissapearing after CoPL, seeing as Wolverton wrote Zsinj's SD as being destroyed. Then again, "Zsinj's Star Destroyer" does not neccesarily mean that it wasn't the Iron Fist).

I'm pretty sure it was an SSD that Solo shot shit out off. I seem to remember Solo getting under the shields and firing torps at Iron Fists bridge at the end of the book when the entire Hapan fleet arrived.
