Definitely male. He's married to Malla and has a son, Lowbacca. Read either the old children's books (I had one about Lumpy getting lost on the lower levels of Kashyyk) or the Black Fleet Crisis.

D'oh! You're right. I really should have caught that one after referring to Lumpy. Attichitcuk is Chewie's father, Mallatobuck is his wife, and Lumpawarrump is his son, according to the
Holiday Special (yeah, and doesn't GL wish none of us knew about that).

And the dumb SW questions sink to a lew low. I never imagined it was even possible for someone to not easilly infer that Chewie was a male just from casually watching the movies.
