I am having trouble getting my head around the pieces of information on the nature of shields and I was hoping someone could put together an algorithm of the impact on a shield.

Use some made up numbers for Weapon strength and Shield strength to help make it more clear if you don't mind.

We don't know alot about shields, making this extremely difficult.
