anyone have any info on their powers and activities during and after the phantom menace? I am running a campaign and think the pcs may meet with this little criminal organization.

Shortly before TPM Maul went through them like prunes through an old man, so they are going to be fragmented and weak during that point.

Maul only weakened them. By the time Xizor took over Blacksun spanned the entire Galaxy. It reached into the places the Empire couldn't, Hutt space for example, and it was Xizor's company that provided the transport and logistics for the DS Project.

The usual organized crime activities. Shake downs, protection rackets, drug smuggling, and all sorts of other activities. As far as I know that's their bread and butter though under Xizor they spread and tried to be a player in politics.

Xizor was the son to the king of the Faleen, King Haxim. Years later with his father's fortune he made Xizor Transport Systems, which allowed him to work his way into Black Suns' power base. After Darth Maul killed all of Black Suns' leaders, Xizor pretty much stepped in and took over.
