Questions on Palpatine's plan in Empire's End

We all know in Empire's End of the Dark Empire series, the ressurected Emperor tries to take over the unborn Anakin Solo still inside Leia. My question is: what if he had succeded?

Would he somehow "control" Leia once he had taken Anakin? Both Luke and Han were there, so it's not as if he could run or fight even if he did take over. What was he planning to do? Hope Imperial agents would come to his rescue at the last moment or something? I don't think this plan was well thought out (but of course, the Emperor was dying, so he might've been in sort of a hurry).

Even more intriguing: what if he did escape? Whether or not Leia would be willing Imperial surgeons would get Palaptine out of her. But would he be aware or just a mindless infant? Would he have to "re-learn" the ways of the dark side or would it all still be in his head?

Your thoughts?

:wtf:

You should actually read Dark Empire II and Empire's End before starting a topic like this.

Anakin is born by Palpatine's final scene in Empire's End when he tries to possess Anakin Solo.

Phooey. The Essential Chronolgy didn't actually clarify (although I see now the picture of Leia holding Anakin in the background).

QUICK! Locketh thine thread! To the dungeon with it!

As you wish.....though there are many of us who would say Palpatine died at Anakin Skywalker's hands at the Death Star as he was brought back to the light at by the sacrifices of his son. Anything else in the words of Spock would be a waste of material.
