I would like to see some Pre-ROTJ books. Maybe chronicling some of the time between ANH and ESB or some books about more obscure characters pasts such as Wedge Antilles and maybe Mon Mothma.

Yeah, it'd be nice for books about Piett and the Grand Admirals. And Rebel Scum. Maybe after Episode III we could have books inbetween III & IV. Until then it'll be NJ, and Bad Guy of the Week.(TM) Or Week long Imperial Rise(TM) damn wankers...

That would be nice, but at least they are going to do some post-ROJ books. The first of which is to be written by Tim Zahn!

SERIOUSLY? HE's writing another one?

Will it be about Thrawn?

Yes, seriously.

I am not positive what his book is to be about. I just know that the time is between ROJ and Zahn's trilogy.

I don't know. The more that's opened up, the more KJA can screw it up.

But poor KJA is too busy fucking up the Dune universe. I hope he doesn't have the time to screw with the GFFA again.

Actually it's supposed to be set in the prequel era. Not the classic trilogy era. But I'm sure he'll get around to more classic era novels. His biggest novels have all been Star Wars and he's been the biggest hitmaker for Star Wars.

He's moved on too other series. He single handedly trashed the Starcraft novel series and has started on Dune. Though to my suprise they have actually been enjoyable reads. Probably Brian Herbert's influence.

Ok, I must have misread whatever it was when it was telling about Zahn writing. NOw I can't find the article, however for you Thrawn fans, I did find this at tf.n

"Zahn DID, however, lay out a few details on his Prequel-era book. He says it's pretty much what we all figured, the story of the Outbound Flight, who the original C'Baoth was and how Palpatine met and talked Thrawn into helping him. It will feature Obi-Wan and Anakin in some significant fashion. He didn't mention anything about the Katana Fleet, so I don't think that'll figure in. "

AH, sweet, I'd love to have Zahn clear all this stuff up once and for all for us...

I think that we should but I think that they should involve primarily background characters. There just isn't a lot of material left for the main characters to use within the original trilogy. Also, I think that we should only dedicate more attention to the original trilogy era if we can do so without taking the best authors away from the NJO and the Prequel era books. We have already clearly seen what happens when crappy writers go to those series, and there may just not be enough talented authors to do all three at the same time. Thus, I believe that priority should be: NJO, as it is nearly completed and the writers there will soon be free to work on other projects, Prequel era, which is interestingly new, and finally the original trilogy era. We already have enough material in that genre to tide us over, and the other sets will end, allowing those authors to switch over again.
