the following people being chosen to write it?

1. Lucas writes everything himself

2. Lucas will still do an occasional Ep. but hires JMS to do most of them

3. Lucas hires B&B and gives them full creative control

Please state where you think the series will go, how it will do, and how you will react

1. We get pretty imagery...and Episode 1-3 in ultra extended format.

2. We get Babylon 5/Supreme Power part 2.

3. We get Tits and Ass.

Even if Lucas wrote them himself, im sure that only a handful of episodes will be good. A SW TV show would cheapen the films; SW is an operatic saga about the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. I know its got lots of good stuff going on in the background but i only need to point out the EU to show the potential it has to degrade into amaturely and badly written sci fi drivel. Lucas would probably come up with a few compelling ideas but seeing as he'll be forced to churn out a pre-decided number of stories per season, it'll be no wonder why so much of it is crap.

Let SW die in peace with Episode III.

The man's a visual effects artist, not a writer. Bad idea.
2. Lucas will still do an occasional Ep. but hires JMS to do most of them
As long as JMS is given enough time to come up with descent stuff, that would be cool. B5 (seasons 1-4) were good I believe because JMS had all the time in the world to write the main story arc. Season 5 and most of the 'made for TV movies' sucked and you will notice that JMS didnt' have nearly as much time to write them. Granted this is just a correlation but still something to think about.
3. Lucas hires B&B and gives them full creative control
Burn the witch!!! Do we really want an episode about Hutt cultural values? :wtf: :kill: B&B

Could be worse - could be an episode about Wookiee cultural values.

Pfft...you're both thinking too deep...it'll be about their prospective races' mating rituals :P

1. Lucas writes everything himself
The big problem with Lucas is he's a very visual artist and really falls down when it comes to the character development. Unless he's got some serious back up I think it'd be a flop to make the Christmas special look good.
2. Lucas will still do an occasional Ep. but hires JMS to do most of them
This I'd be incredibly excited about. This is really a match made in heaven as far as I'm concerned. JMS has a really good grasp on how to handle character development and combined with Lucas I forsee spectactular things happening.
3. Lucas hires B&B and gives them full creative control
The Devil is working overtime to make this one happen.

I disagree that Star Wars should die with Episode III. There is no reason why it can't continue on in novels. Sure, a lot of the EU isn't spectacular, but I bet everyone can choose something good from it that he or she has enjoyed. Besides, I think a Star Wars Anthology show would be interesting.

I think SW would be more suited to a mini-series, not a full T.V. show. After a couple episodes, they'd run out of ideas, and it would become like Enterprise *shivers.*

That said:

1. Okay
2. Better
3.

What are the story lines gonna be? The EU from after ROTJ, the NJO, <shuddering> the young jedi knights series </Shuddering>.

In any of the senarios it's not gonna be easy for die-hard fans like ourselves to watch. The movies are there, they are great. Leave it like that. Messing and adding to it only ruins it. The EU is an exception. I like the EU, even bought KJA's books.

Star Wars would work well as a miniseries which did not include the major players in any large way. How about two miniseries done during the Civil War? One centers around a squadron of Rebel pilots; the other around a squadron of Imperial pilots. I get enough of the big picture in the films; I want to see what normal people in the Star Wars universe are like.

Having the original Dark Forces as a miniseries would be fantastic.

I'd love to see more done with the Height of the Empire area. You've got 4 years between the movies to play with, and they have barely touched it.

Are you kidding me? :wtf: They've shoved novels, endless comics, and numerous comics into the slots.

Hell, just trying to make sense of what Marvel shoved in there is brain-bending.

Wasn't "Droids" a series? Sure, they were cartoons but a similar premise could spawn a decent series. I fail to see why any attempt at a series will cheapen it (it's not like we don't have a buttload of novels, most of which already cheapen a lot)

I'd like to see a series about Coruscant P.D. - either in an NYPD Blue style or a COPS style.

Oh, and of course I'd like to see a Band of Brothers style show, maybe one about a group of rebs and one about a group of imps, like Damien said.

I would watch a Wraith Squadron show, Rogue Squadron MAYBE if Stackpole wasnt involved in it at all and they replaced COrran horn with a less assholish character.

2 novels, and a series of comics that are largly contradicted by later material (eg. Hoth stuff). All of which focuses on Luke, meaning they bearly did shit with it. Given the scope and the time frame, it is very much untouched territory.

#1- Give him a good character writer working with him, then okay. Otherwise...
#2- That would rule. Base in the EU and go man go!
#3- I would hunt down B&B and then Lucas and kill them.

Anyway..

Someone on TheForce.net suggested during the EU as the basis of a 7 or 8 season Star Wars movie series. I like that idea, with something like 6 hours to a book, starting with Truce at Bakura and going in Chronological order

I'd also like to see 'Tie Fighter' turned into a series (you could get 2 seasons out of that easily) about Mareek Steele's life in the Empire (go read TimeTales if you want to know who Mareek Steele is)

I think the Marvel comics set between Star Wars IV going to Star War VI, with Shadows of the Empire tossed in, would be a great show.

Heck, why not do all 3?

That was what I were referring to.

If that's the case, B&B shall certainly not touch the Kaminoans... I, for various logical reasons, do not subscribe to the theory that they (Kaminoans, not B&B!!) procreate solely by means of cloning.

I would only support such a thing if it was short, and focused on some small group (like Rogue/Wraith Squadron). We've all seen how bad the EU can get.
