Alien Jedi - Unfair advantage

Yoda has shown us that the older and more experienced a Jedi Master is generally the more powerful they become. Now some races like Yoda's are extremely long lived so you can say that those aliens with the altered lifespans would be the dominant Jedi knights and masters. (Without getting into the thornier question of aliens that are naturally stronger and faster than humans in the first place) Is there some way to regulate this natural dominance? I mean obviously there are humans of renown in the Order, (Obi Wan, Anakin, Qui Gon) and even one on the council (Mace) but is there a sort of Affirmative action for humans or are the number of Jedi that each race can produce a natural limiting factor?
