Video game cutscenes canon?

I'm in a SW chatroom, and some guy is claiming that the cut scenes from the Clone Wars videogame, and Bounty Hunter are canon, and this somehow proves that Sidious went to Kamino, pretending to be Sifo-Dyas.

Can anyone offer any insight into this?

Canon no, official yes. The only cannon is the movies, the movie novelizations, the movie comics, the movie radio dramas, and the ICSs, VDs, and Inside the Worlds of. Game mechanics are not part of Wars, but the story is.

And exactly how the hell do the cutscenes in those games "Prove" Sideous pretended to be Sifo-Dyas? I've played both through, and never got that impression.

So then I imagine the guy who said that was bullshitting.

Shouldn't have been a surprise, he also thought Palpatine was a clone of Sidious.

He probably was. Though the notion that Palpatine is a clone isn't exactly proof of that. It's a common enough line of speculation.

True. But it is doubtful, and he was stating as if he was absolutely sure. Althogh, he was at least better than this other moron who was claiming that Luke was a clone of Anakin.

According to him the fact they have a few similar life experiences is absolute proof that Luke is a clone. He simply ignored all refutations.

A wall of ignorance that powerful is a rare thing.

Well, as to the games cutscenes, I would say absolutely not canon or official. Given that game cutscenes often depend on the progress of a campaign with in the game they can't be counted on as reliable indicators of history. Unless we have outside confirmation of event I would treat them as being outside the continuity.

Is that really how his name is spelled? I imagined it as something like Siphodeus or something.
