I've been wondering, which is More powerful? The Dark Side? The Light Side? I would like to hears your opinions on this subject.

calmness and serenity are more stabilizing forces than hatred and fear. Its like comparing a humble, disciplined, hard-working businessman who saves and invests wisely for years and a fearsome, violent, and greedy gangster who kills anyone who crosses him. In the long run, the gangster is gonna be destroyed by the same attributes which make him strong, while the businessman will prosper, slowly, yet surely.

The Dark side is more direct and can be more intense, but the light side seems more ethereal and open, yet inexorable in the end.

I submit to Vergere's doctrine that there is no light or dark side, that the classification of good and evil only comes from how a person uses the Force for selfish or unselfish gains.

To me, pure anger and hatred breeds more sheer power, but calm discipline gives you better control. So it's a mix of both for me.

Umm, you just admited that the dark side is more powerful, since the very defination of power is the ability to destroy.

Dark side, easily. Force lightning>whatever the light side can do.

I always gathered that the force was like Taoism - that the two halves, Light side and Dark, are complementary forces which are supposed to be in balance at all times. The reason why the [old] Jedi and Sith had so many problems was because they were too monolithic, or too strict.

That's so funny. Yoda pulled several tons worth of spacecraft out of a swamp once. I think that beats Palpatine's parlour tricks.

I missed that about the duel in AOTC. Dooku tries electrocuting Yoda, and Yoda picks up a mountain and squashes him. Wouldn't have been a climactic duel, but certainly a funny one.

Yuck. But telekinesis isn't exclusively light side (ref: Vader in Empire Strikes Back).

But wouldn't what the Emperor supposedly did (coordinate his forces), and C'boath did be similar/same?

Palpatine and C'boath would literally breakdown the will of their minions and manipulate them--supplanting them with their own will.

I am just a bit hazy on what 'Jedi Battle Meditaion' was ... wasn't a way to coordinate a fleet/army, and thus really not be any different to what C'boath was doing for Thrawn, and what the Emperor did at Endor?

Battle meditation is more an extension of the "mind clouding" type effects we've seen in the movies ("these aren't the droids you're looking for") - attempting to instill greater courage in your allies and inspire despair/defeat in your foes, or at least thats what I remember. There could be more to it, though.

C'Baoth's and Palpatine's was more bordering on actual mind control, just a bit more mild (Witness him increasing his "control" over the Bellicose's turbolaser crews in I believe Dark Force Rising to destroy a Rebel Vessel.) C'baoth was improving their performance directly.

As I've heard, it's not limited to Jedi, I am not sure that any socalled "light" or "dark" powers are off limits to either Jedi or Sith.

Isn't it somewhat ridiculous to say that there are "light" powers and "dark" powers when the Force is supposed to permeate through every living being? How is using Force Lightening, for instance, an inherently "dark" or "evil" ability? And what makes Battle meditation so special - or a "light" power? It seems to just put the Jedi or Sith in a frame of mind dedicated towards combat.

Intent is all that matters.

Well, as I see it, in order for a Sith to use Jedi Battle Mediation, he would have to get into a state of deep relaxation and calmness, as those are prerequisites for conjuring this power, this might not be in the Sith's nature, but it could be done, though then he might be drawn away from the darkness as well and would be "tainted" with light.

For anything physical the Dark because much like Yoda said: "Quicker, easier, more seductive..." it fuels that side.

Course..Jedi Battle Meditation can be accessed by the Dark(they do it KoTOR). And the ability is described much more as a morale booster. It states it invigorates one side while demoralizing the other, while Palpatine and C'Baoth seem much more mind controlled rather then soothing their side.

Darkness is only a lack of light.

I'm not a patient man so the Light wouldn't be for me, however i'm not an evil person either, atleast i don't think so, If i where a Jedi i guess i'd be a Kyle Kartan type Jedi.

I like the Mind Meld power that Jedi Pilots used in the NJO, i think it's better than the Sith Battle technique used by Palpy and Caboath. The problem with using the Sith technique is that you force your troops to become dependent on you and if your injured or dead it'll all fall apart, see the end of the Battle of Endor.

The Dark Side offers power more quickly, while the Light Side offers better skin, longer life, and protection from the Dark Side and in general.

Dark Side users die from things going exactly as they have foreseen, while Light Side users often die from sacrificing themselves.

From what I've seen and heard, those who strike a balance between the two seem to be the best off.

Lightning and electricity in general is not inherently evil. We know non-evil Jedi can throw lightning from a variety of sources (Jedi Starfighter, Courtship of Princess Leia, etc...

Yoda even tossed a bolt of lightning back at Dooku in the movies.
