Where do humans come from?

Post by SCVN 2812 »

Originally I mean. The SW galaxy is crawling with humans and they all seem to come from several different planets but nothing I've raid has ever said where humans originally come from.

Humans and aliens probably origionated on thousands of planets in the galaxy, and developed technology at dfferent levels, and none of them made contact until scientists on one planet came up with the idea of a hyperdrive motivator, and over everal years, they were all brought together, and formed a Galactic Republic. City-planets like Coruscant only became possible in part to other habitable planets that could grow food and dispose of waste, and with the resources of an entire galaxy to feed a popualtion, popualtion skyrocketed, with planets being able to sustain populations in the dozens, possibly hundreds of trillions.

Perhaps the origional homeworld was destroyed.

Perhaps it was invaded and the human race inslaved. Generations later they started an uprising, and through victory became the big kids on the block, but had no record or memory of their homeland.

Perhaps one day Lucas will adopt Wong's fanfic, and the humans will be descentent's of Starfleet officers. Stranger things have happened.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

It's a big galaxy, who says there's more than one world with human beings? Humans came to be through adaptation to earthlike conditions. With such conditions on a planet, Humans could evolve.

Where do humans come from?
Bigger, horny humans.

But in the long term, it's primitive primates, which in turn means that they all came from Earth. The probability of structurally identical humans evolving separately on wholly disconnected planets is insignificant.

Wow. I'm getting confused here. I don't know what to say, but now I know that I know nothing about this subject, now that Mike replied.

I've always wondered where the humans in SW come from. However, it is quite possible that they come from Coruscant. (Coruscant before it was turned into one giant city, I mean!)

This is why I shun from the use of humans in my Bajakverse, theres the problem of everything we've come to know and love/hate about humans. Personally I think Coruscant is supposed to be like.. a planet where humanoids evolved and then we're results of them forcing our evolution down the appropriate paths to get modern humans. That the only plausible explanation -- that we result from their meddling. Or something like that.

This kind of thing would make a lot of sense in SW particularly if the original wave of human expansion was STL. STL interstellar travel just take so damn long that there'd be more than enough time for the various human settlements to forget where they came from and even to divergently evolve into all the human-but-purple (etc) aliens that litter the SW universe.

I've always thought humans originated from Coruscant.
Thousands of years before the invention of hyperdrive they sent out sleeper
ships and settled planets like Correlia and Alderaan.
That's the official version.

After realizing that many alien species were seen during the movies, I now think that the humans became the nt species, not the majority.

Coruscant is the most obvious candidate, being the most urbanized. Alderaan was actually colonized by Coruscant, so it's not a "birthplace."

My favorite candidate: Corellia. Aliens moved five planets to orbit around the star Corel, ensuring that space travel would begin between Corellians, Selonians, and Drall. Corellia colonized Talus and Tralus, the remaining two planets, then set off among the stars, meeting people like the Duro, who were also beginning to explore.

I'd like to think that sometime in the ST future, a colony ship with Transwarp/Quantum Slipstream consolidated drive flew through the Galactic Barrier (Great Barrier?) and, like Kirk's Academy buddy Gary Mitchel, were transformed into beings with telekenisis, telepathy, precognition, etc.....proto-jedi and proto-sith.

Dosen't explain force sensitivity of non-humans, though.

I would just like to point out that some people start yelling when somebody brings up an old thread, and others when somebody starts a new thread on a topic that had already discussed. What is the general rule then?

I'm OK with resurrecting dead thread, as long as there's something to add to them. This doesn't.
