Who really cares?

Maybe they would be willing to do a favor to Luke at the *same* time ;)

I doubt she would really care, assuming that she even knew about it at all.

Callista: "Oh, how could he ... ." and throws herself into her lightsabre.

The thing is she vanished after Planet of Twilight and has not been seen since - no idea if she was a casualty of the NJO. Possibly she'll have a cameo in the post-NJO trilogy, but I'm sure we've seen the last of her.

I really liked Callista's character and was quite saddened to see her go. But i'd imagine that she would be happy for Luke.

Luke is a bit of a dawg in those stakes. For a wondering Jedi he's tapped the ass of 3 of the finest females in the GFFA. There was the Senator from Bakura, Callista (who was refered to by Han as the "Blond with legs") and then Mara Jade.

Heh, yeah, I remember the Blonde with Legs comment. :)

Was that from Darksaber?

I liked Gaeriel Captison quite a bit, actually, and was rather upset when I learned that she was killed in the NJO.

Yeah it was Darksaber. Leia was quite pissed off by the comment IIRC.

She was killed well before the NJO, wasn't she? The Corellian crisis? Died on the Intruder.

D'oh, yeah, you're right. Showdown at Centerpoint, 1995: several years before the NJO.

Callista's reaction to Luke and Mara's marriage
I'd imagine she'd be a bit jealous (this is Star Wars not the neutered future of Star Trek) and bit happy for him. But all in all, what the hell does it matter? She walked out and that ended it.

Since he didn't sleep with her while she was Cray, she'd actually be the brunette with legs. Though I kind of doubt, given her behaviour, that she and Luke ever made love.

Maybe her jealousy would be the final straw that'd push Calista to the Dark Side. It'd run through her mind that if she was still in touch with the Force she and Luke would have been the ones getting married.

Luke has also gotten down with Akanah from the BFC IIRC, and took an interest in Shira Brie (even though she was gonna kill him  ). For being either a whiney bitch or a tree hugging pansy, he sure has gotten lucky with the ladies. I'd be tempted to think there was a Jedi mind trick involved here or there...

Two or three ladies in 25 years? That's not that lucky considering they lasted for months at best save for Mara.

Then there was that one young jedi babe in the Dark Empire comics. Cant recall was it DE I or II tough. But that relationship lasted only for a day or two before a few Dark Jedi bastards killed that one of Luke's love interests.

That would have been an interesting subplot. The reason it never happened is, I'm sure, because the writers miled the Luke-Calista rommance for all it was worth. Still I would liked to know what became of her - and of course, Admiral Daala...

I though at the end of the Planet of Twilight explained what was most likely Daala's fate and future.

As for Callista...not much...perhaps she got on with life or is still obsessed with reacquiring the Force.

According to the Essential Chronology, following PoT, Daala reclaimed a leadership position in the new Deep Core warlords that had sprung up as a result of the power vacuum she had caused in Darksaber and attempted to lead another unified strike against the Republic. As before, it failed.

After Pellaeon and his pro-Empire forces were pushed back, the Republic dealt with the Deep Core warlords. General bel Iblis attempted to, during one of the final assualts, to cut off Daala and her flagship with two gravity-well frigates.

Daala's lead frigate rammed one of the gw-frigates and she escaped into hyperspace and not seen since then. NRI was tempted to declare her dead, but given her past history of cheating death, it didn't.

Of course like Calista, there was no sign of her during the NJO. It would have been interesting if she was a member of the Peace Brigade though...

Eh as that...I doubt Daala really deserves anymore note(given the past failures and the ridiculous plans she laid)

As for Callista...honestly she was most likely written off and sure some may remember but until a Luke-centric story...I doubt we'll ever know her true fate.

Who knows. I might have a mention or cameo of both of them in The Best of Both Worlds, but other than that, unless Troy Denning's going to revist the material with his post-NJO trilogy, we've probably seen the last of both of them.

Hey now, she's the best Imperial Commander the New Republic ever had!
