Death Star Sillouttes
Why does Wdge Antillies have two havle death stars painted on his X-Wing?
I can understand him having half the death star II kill but Why the orginal?
I mean i suppose he got off a few laser hits during the battle but so did the surving Y-Wing and he can't have part of the kill to.
Surely Luke sould be the only person with any right to the first death star's kill siloutte? Shouldn't he have the full kill?

Any survivor probably gets one as without them more then likely it wouldn't have been won. What if Wedge just wasn't there? Would Luke have managed it? It is a collaborated victory I'd say. Just because Luke was the one to pull the final trigger doesn't make him the sole winner.
History? I love history! First, something happens, then, something else happens! It's so sequential!! Thank you first guy, for writing things down!

Wedge covered and delayed the enemy fighters from getting to Luke quicker and he deserves it just right. ~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
Yavin was a total team effort. As such it should be expected that all who participated in the battle are credited with the destruction of the Death Star. This means that Wedge, Han, Luke, and the surviving Y-Wing pilot all earned the distinction to claim the kill. Those who died in the battle also likely get the distinction.

In the first Stackpole X-Wing novel, it explains that the Death Star silhouette is for the Battle of Yavin, and that there's some kind of dot or other signifying mark on the silhouette which indicates that he participated in the trench run.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Sorta correct. There is a Battle of Endor patch for the fighter pilots and there is also a patch with a black dot that signifies the Death Star run pilots who flew through the super structure. Only Wedge and Lando survived the actual assault while Tycho and the other A-Wing pilot survived the distraction chase through the super structure. A Y-Wing had followed Tycho and the other A-Wing but it seems sources indicate none of the Y-Wing survived Endor.

Yes. IIRC he was in the Christmas Special and he was also named in the Star Wars Rebellion game.

And his name is...? Don't make me drag out Rebellion, I'll end up playing it for an entire day then hate it all over again.Alyeska wrote:Yes. IIRC he was in the Christmas Special and he was also named in the Star Wars Rebellion game.

Colonel Salm survived Endor, he was in the X-Wing Dark Horse comics commanding a squadron of Y-Wings during the Battle of Brental*sp* IV IIRC.~JasonAlyeska wrote:but it seems sources indicate none of the Y-Wing survived Endor.
