That poor Stormtrooper in ANH? In the corridor she shoots one, but he doesn't really look like he dies...the hit appeared kinda weak, if you take my meaning. But does anyone know if, in fact, he died?

She shoots a lot of Stormtroopers in corridors, if I remember correctly... :P

I think he means the first one, in her corvette.

Yeah, on board that doomed ship at the beginning. My bad...

EDIT_____________________

For below comment...

Yup, the Tantive IV, wasn't 100% about the name, and didn't want to appear much more stoopider.

The Tantive IV, you mean.

Well, he looked pretty dead to me.

I think the novelization mentioned that he was just stunned, but I don't remember too well.

It's difficult to distinguish a dead stormtrooper from an unconcious one. There's no telling how many of the stormtroopers we see get shot in the movies are actually still alive (although we can safely write off the ones that fall into the omnipresent bottomless pits).

Simple.

If there is a burnt hole on his armor, he is dead.
If it is only blackend, but no hole, he is not.

if a stormtrooper is shot, he is dead. There arent any "wounded stromtroopers" in the films, there only "Dead" and "Not-dead".

I think its implied that she killed him. The hit she herself takes is only a stun blast.

I knew she was only stunned. But, you know, the other storm troopers didn't even MOVE when their buddy was shot. does this speak to discipline or foolishness? they didn't seek cover or anything.

Stormtroopers are trained to ignore the casualties of their comrades and look at them only from a tactical standpoint. Since the objective was to subdue one person, the loss of the trooper did not effect their operation.
they didn't seek cover or anything.
The fact that Leia had a blaster apparently caught the troopers unaware, where it shouldn't have, but I guess they felt (wrongly) that a senator (even one who was a Rebel conspirator) would be unarmed.

IIRC he survivied.

I just remember this (very) darkly.

I can not present a quote or source for this.

There was a comic (not official) that followed that stormtrooper's story. If you can go by this, he was very, very dead.

Nah. No magnesium flash. He was knocked over, that's it. She just had a sporting blaster.

From ANH novelization.. where it seems things happened a bit differently..

He never finished the sentence, just as he would never recieve the hoped-for commendation. Once his attention turned from the girl to his communicator her shivering vanished with startling speed. The energy pistol she had held out of sight behind her came up and around as she burst frmo her hiding place.

The trooper who had been unlucky enough to find her fell first, his head a mass of melted bone and metal. The same fate met the second armored form coming up fast behind him.

goodness.

By the way, your link to the Operation Crossroads document on that page doesn't work anymore.

Yeah, there's more links broken on that website than you can shake your wookiee at. Maybe I'll get interested in it again, sometime.

That troop'r died according to ANH novel. We can't determine if Leia's blaster pierced his armor (uh, I'll go make some screenies).

But, there is one certain blaster fire survivor - the ROTJ trooper on Endor... yes.
You can check out my page about this "casus armor":

While the poor Stormie is indeed dead, that story was in a Star Wars Tales comic...which has an 'Infinites' label. So if he somehow survived in the movie, the tale would be thrown out completely as evidence to the contrary.

Well, it's been shown that he gets waxed in the ANH novelization, so that's kind of a moot point isn't it?

Remind me why we care about this particular stormie, again?

That doesn't mesh too well with what we saw in the movie, though. She only got one trooper, and as I recall, it hit him in the chest, not the head.

Though I suppose the bolt could have deflected off the armor and up and into his helmet... the only problem was that it deflected in a very, very bad direction...
