Worst EU Travesty?

What, in your opinion, was the worst act that has ever been commited by the Extended Universe?
As for mine.......
Anything by KJA deserves to be burned.
EDIT: Whoops. (I'd have thought everyone would have finished The Unifying force by now)

2 VSD's being a threat to the whole republic (The New Rebellion), and said VSD's being taken out with 1 direct hit to a "weak spot".

Not to mention the Giant Evil Psychic Vampire Brain from Another Dimension in the same book.

The destroyer lomed overhead. filling his entire vision. His hands were sweating on the cannon handles. He kept moving the cannon, waiting, waiting, waiting---
And then it was in position. He held his arms steady, punched the trigger and watched the single shot fly.
It was long and thin. It soared in the space between the Star Destroyer and the Yavin, red against the destroyers scarred white surface. For a moment it looked as if the shot would ricochet off the shields, and then bounce back and forth between the shields like a ball caught between a narrow corridor.
But it didn't. It hit the weak spot, which glowed bright red. Wedge grabbed his helmet and shouted into the mouthpiece, "Dive! Dive" Dive!"
The red glow spread and there was a small pop at the first explosion. Then the Yavin dove. Wedge turned his chair so that he could see.
The Star Destroyer exploded....

Oops sorry, wrong book. The incident I'm refering to is from "The New Rebellion". Both are so bad I get mixed up -o-;

The baddest about EU:
the over-repeating idiocy with uber-powerful weapons of the Empire destroyed with ease by the uber-lucky bunch of Rebel heroes, inc. the mighty ever-invulnerable Luke Skywalker. I hate it. Hate it all, not just one travesty.
Worst of EU:
Dark Empire gets my vote. A total self-repeating of Lucas' story, and actually rendering the events of Episode VI meaningless [edit: particulary awful - the destruction of the Eclipse by a Force-storm]. Crystal Star is also soo bad it can't be ever forgotten.
EU authors who must be vivisected:
KJA, Barbara Hambly, Vonda McIntyre, Kathy Tyers.

Either the IG88-DS2 thing or just EU minimalism in general.

The best part of having given up the EU after the Jedi Academy series is that I was spared the horrors to come. But damn you KJA for the horrors you did inflict and Vonda McIntyre may you rot in hell for the drek you called Crystal Star.

Whats this IG88-DS2 thing? I haven't heard of it before, what books/comics is it from?

Stackpole butchered the technology the most, but it was The Approaching Storm that simply infuriated me due to its literary craptaculence. No publisher should have even taken a second look at that "book," much less published anything that crappy.

Apparently IG88 used one of his "clones" and infiltrated the Death Star 2, downloading his conscience and planning to take over the Galaxy, so if the rebels hadn't destroyed it it would have been out of the Empire's control. I haven't read it but I heard it several times... Yes, it's pretty stupid.

I wouldn't say that was too bad. It was nice to see the EU finally show a real loss for the heros.
On the other hand, why did it have to be Chewie?

It's from Tales of the Bounty Hunters. He'd also taken over a droid-factory planet and killed everyone there (Something Darth Vader didn't notice when he visited
) and implanted subversive programming in every droid made there (which apparently included practically every Probe Droid made) so that if he (or one of him i should say) broadcast a signal they'd all defect to him.
On the clones thing: there were 5 IG droids, 4 IG-88 and one IG-72. IG88 was activated but slaughtered the lab technicians that built him, then copied himself into the other IG88's (72 already had a personality). They then proceeded like above but with one of them going out to be a bounty hunter (with 2ndary objectives of killing anyone with any links to the labs that built them). They were destroyed as follows:
- One on Cloud City while trying to kill Boba Fett before Han and crew arrived (Can be seen in the junk room when Chewie picks up C3PO)
- Two were destroyed above Tatooine while trying to intercept Fett to capture Solo in Carbonite.
- Last one transferred over to the DSII core which had been captured in transit. Destroyed along with DSII. IIRC his body resurfaced in the Young Jedi Knights series and had been reprogrammed as a butler droid or something.
Yes the story is that crap, but IIRC there was a certain author who was editor for the book which explains it.
