What is humanity's homeworld?
Has it ever been stated anywhere about the origins of humans in SW?

I would be inclined to believe that humans evolved on Earth, but for all practical purposes (rise and spread of civilization etc.) originated on Coruscant. How they wound up on Coruscant is anyone's guess, but I don't think SW humans are just superficially similar to Earth humans, because there are other Earth species in the SW galaxy (horses etc.).

Yes, and Ewoks use ponies. There are also numerous references to dogs and other domesticated Earth animals. While they could of course be refering to analogous but seperate species, the horses look completely identical to modern Earth breeds. Add this to the identical humans. Too much of a coincidence for me.Rogue 9 wrote:There are horses in the GFFA?

While I am flattered, I cannot take full credit for that theory. Both IP and I share that theory.Rogue 9 wrote:I remember seeing this thread at least twice since I've been here. Short answer: No one knows, although I've seen arguments for Corellia, Coruscant, and Spanky the Dolphin has some weird theory about the hyperspace aliens bringing them from future Earth.
Basically it's that the HA build Centerpoint Station, construct the Corellian System, create the Maw, use it to travel to Earth at the time of Cro-Magnon man, take them and other various plant and animal species back to the GFFA, and put humans and most species on Corellia (as well as scattering the non-human stuff around nearby systems). My theory goes a bit further in the HA using the Maw to travel to another plane of existance, where they become the Whills.

Perhaps the Sharu were an abandoned outpost of the HA.

Perhaps Corellia is Earth; the hyperspace aliens/whills who created the Corellia system just moved it there to have fun with the galactic future.

I doubt it. First off, Corellia's geography is quite a bit different from Earth's. Then there are shared species, but not enough to say that its the whole planet transferred. And after that, there's the little fact that if Corellia is Earth, then all our little scenarios with the Empire invading and destroying/conquering Earth in the Federation become null and void, as that would totally screw with the timeline. Speaking of the timeline, Star Wars events happened a long time ago. Says so in the crawler. So perhaps the hyperspace aliens can take humans and select other species with them across time and space, but transfer the entire planet? Besides, this obviously didn't happen as the time frame for Spanky's and IP's theory calls for it to happen in our present-day past, and we're still here. Ergo, Corellia =/= Earth.Guardsman Bass wrote:Perhaps Corellia is Earth; the hyperspace aliens/whills who created the Corellia system just moved it there to have fun with the galactic future.

Maybe not. See, if Earth was under the influence of an Infinite Improbability Field while the HAs tried moving it...Rogue 9 wrote: Ergo, Corellia =/= Earth.
oh bother, nobody's going to catch the reference.

Of course, the time when the tale is being told is never specified. So it is just "a long time ago" from when the story is being told, which could be any time in the future, not just the past.Rogue 9 wrote:Speaking of the timeline, Star Wars events happened a long time ago. Says so in the crawler.

Well that's obvious. The story's obviously being told to us.DPDarkPrimus wrote:Of course, the time when the tale is being told is never specified. Prior to the flat out statement of "human" in TPM I always assumed that the Journey if the Wills story was what was being potrayed, and thus George just substituted humans in for the most prolific species in Wars. That is now shot to hell.
There is always the possibility that humans are the hyperspace aliens, ala the Anchients in Stargate.
Though it is completely impossible that they arose on Coruscant, its too different from earth, they would be moe different.

I seriously doubt that Coruscant would be the homeworld of humanity - IIRC, Coruscant is twice the size of earth and would thus have much more gravity. If we evolved on a gravity with significantly higher gravity, chances are we'd be much stronger in order to survive the high pressure.

Ahem...
Additionally, its orbit is slightly too far away from it's star.
Nevermind that it pretty much can be interpreted from information in the EU that Coruscant is definately not the origin of Humans in the Galaxy. Corellia is the most likely in my opinion.
http://www.theforce.net/swtc/orbs.html#coruscantCoruscant is a terrestrial planet somewhat larger than Earth. It has 2.74 times Earth's mass, 1.39 times its diameter, and 1.42 times its surface gravity. This is well within the range of habitability for humans, although newcomers from Earth or other mild-gravity worlds would go through a period of uncomfortable physical adjustment.
