I like the visor. It appears to be a separate attachment or flip down sight like one on the Mandalorian helmet. Opinions?

Does this mean that they're going to have non-CGI troopers?

That's cool; they look more storm trooper like.

Except for the visor thing, yeah.

Personally don't like the visor, and hope that it's just for specific roles such as pilots.

Rick McCallum has stated in the past that all the clones will be CG effects. Plus, that shot looks CG to me.

Looks like a mockup to me.

it might help them see through all that sand and grit that was cooked up on geonosis....
they might have had trouble

Clone and Stormtrooper optics eliminate obcurities caused by dust, etc...

Doesn't help the fact that it looks like an add-on, and conflicts with the aesthetics of the helmet.

I don't actually mind that little tid bit, what bothers me is that all of them are CGI,
thats what I miss about the original SW, u knew it was real, this is bleh, fake

They merely may be a set of compact electro-binoculars that are easier to carry around than the large ones we saw them using on Geonosis.

You know what i'd like to see, the stormtroopoer armour actually coming in HANDY for once

instead of them getting shredded and blown apart,
i'd like to see debris bouncing harmlessly off them,

even the stormtrooper fighting Han in ROTJ got beat,

c'mon!

It's obviously an add-on, it's not meant to be there permanently. Good to see the grimace is back.

The stormtrooper fighting Han in RotJ got beat because he was a stormtrooper fighting Han. Main character shields are better than wimpy stormtrooper armor. Especially wimpy scout armor.

Looks like the guys who made Republic Commando new about the new Clonetrooper for a while- they look just like that.

The trooper helmet looks like a nice transistionary version between that of the clonetroopers and the OT stromtroopers.

To be honest the new trooper doesnt do much for me. It looks exactly the same as the clonetrooper except for those fat tubes along the bottom of the mask. Interesting i guess. Its a great transition to the final stormtroopers, which i'm sure we'll see in last moments of the film, but its nothing to get excited about.

And that visor is definitly an attachment/flipdown thing. Looks like some kind of nightvision/spacecraft attachment or something.

Man, it's too much of a combination of Stormtrooper and Clonetrooper. It looks like they slapped the top of the Clone Helmet onto the botton of the Stormie's. I would have gone for more of one look than the other instead of just making a combination of the two.

Well, I have a book with concept art for Episode IV here, and that modell that is seen on the cover is nothing new. It was seen in a concept art for a possible stormtrooper helmet.

So it is nothing new, the concept is over 20 years old.....

its not considered a spoiler if its officially released, and on the front cover of the official magazine no less. I'd say it deserves its own thread.

Anyway, its really the only way to morph from the clonetrooper to the stormtrooper--if it still looks like the clonetrooper then theres been no change and its pointless and if it looks too much like the stromtrooper then theres no gradual change and its pointless. Combining the two is really the only option. Actually, though its hard to tell from the pic, the armor may have been changed as well--it looks like its the stormtrooper armor.
