The Force.Net recently published a list of who they considered to be the Top 5 Expanded Universe Characters Of All Time. If you don't follow the link, they are as follows:

5. Corran Horn
4. Anakin Solo

1. Grand Admiral Thrawn

(Honorable mentions were Exar Kun, Talon Karrde, Cloned Emperor, Borsk Fey’lya, Jacen Solo, Aalya Secura, Kyle Katarn and Grand Admiral Pellaeon)

Thoughts? Objections?

The mad-on is mainly directed at Miachel Stackpole.

I would have liked Pellaeon to have been on the list; he's certainly evolved and contributed greatly to the course that the EU has taken since the Thrawn trilogy.

Perhaps, but does that make him a fan favourite?

I liked Corran when he was being all 'Batman' in I, Jedi. Thrawn should be at the top, though.

Corran Horn shouldn't be there. But then, most fans vote for the guy who's "coolest" rather than the best.

Anakin Solo - I'm reading "Star By Star" inspite of knowing the bittersweet ending, and the guy is pretty cool.

Nom Anor - same as Anakin, he's a cool villian. But I hate the Yuzzhan Vong (I know that's not how you spell their name - see me care? No? Good!).

Mara Jade - Yes.

Thrawn - Not surprising. I liked him, but I don't obsess over him.

All in all fairly predictable. OT - is Aalya that blue Twi'lek chick who was glimpsed in AOTC? Where else has she appeared?

In my opinion, Jade should have been No. 1. I've always liked her the best.

Actually you spelled Yuuzhan Vong correctly.

And as for Aalya Secura, yes she is the blue Twi'lek seen at the end of AOTC. She's appeared in the Clone Wars comics I think.
