I actually had a hard time deciding, but peace and stability seems to be better guaranteed under the Empire. I'd rather have my family live in that regime (except if we were Alderaanian).

Baisicly the Empire had more stability, military, strength, and power. The Rebles provided nothing stable after the fall of the Empire.

Going soley off of movies, I would support the Rebellion.

Taking the entire EU into account, the only sane choice is the Empire.

Alliance, if only because I'm a supporter of hopeless causes.

The Rebel Alliance is a criminal organization of guerilla terrorists. The subsequent New Republic is a corrupt and incompetent regime composed of greedy beurocrats and robber barons. Although the Empire has numerous qualities I dislike, I would never support the Rebels or the asinine, suicidal New Republic.

Besides, I'm human. Why should I worry?

Going from the movies alone I'd pick the Alliance. But like others have said, in the EU the Imps seem to be the more sane side at least after Pellaeon took over since the Thrawn duology onward.

Why bother supporting the Empire after it's been castrated?

Living on Bastion is still safer than Mon Cal.

if i were actually living in the SW universe, i'd definitely go with the Empire. better than being hunted down by stormtroopers for being a rebel scum sympathizer.

Okay, not really

I take the EU into account. Tough call; on one hand, in the short run, the Empire would have been far more able to deal with the Vong invasion (i.e., actually doing something about it) than the pathetic NR could, saving trillions of lives in the process. In the long run, however, Palpatine's Sith Imperium would have become as despotic and evil as a government can be, with Dark Side Adepts ruling the people by fiat. Very tough call.

I'm idealistic, to some degree. Therefore, I cast my lot with the Rebel terrorists.

You know, I don't know. The Rebels are a bunch of idealistic morons that didn't stop to realize just why the Old Republic went down the toilet. The Empire on the other hand is evil. Tough call.

The Empire under Palpatine was definitely evil but as you get far into the EU by the time of the Thrawn duology and the NJO it isn't so black and white.
