Saxton Update

Post by Robert Treder »

If you haven't noticed already, Saxton updated with a detailed entry on the Rand Ecliptic, due to the recent Darklighter story arc in the Empire comic book.

Basically it looks like it's an Acclamator variant (or vice versa).

Also interesting are some Imperial uniform tidbits seen in the panels, particularly the appearance of medics (they're wearing the light grey overalls of Navy specialists like the crewmen in the bridge pits of the Executor, and at least one of them is wearing a large backpack and satchels...this may presumably be similar to the equipment worn by Army or Stormtrooper medics) and a cape on First Mate Biggs Darklighter.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Also, can anybody with more naval knowledge than myself tell me if it makes sense for Biggs to be first mate and a TIE pilot?

Normally no, but he was a damn good pilot. Maybe the captain was just weird or maybe the first mate had crew assignments as his responsibility and assigned himself to the fighter complement.

Well, technically the CO of a modern CVN is a pilot, though I doubt he routinely hops in an F-14 to go save the world. :)

But "First Mate" sounds like something a cargo vessel would have, as oppossted to a dedicated warship (where XO seems more appropriate). Is the ship just transporting or an actual warship? I don't really remember.

The original Biggs Darklighter story featured a frieghter, I believe--blame Randy Stradley for the most recent cont. flub.

It was Imperial owned, but I don't know if it was naval. I do know that it wasn't a front line combat starship, whatever it was.
