Jar Jar = God?

Reggae as most probably realize is closely tied to Rastafarianism, the messianic belief system prevelant in Jamaica (dreadlocks, ganja, etc).

In the religion God is referred to as "Jah" or "Jah Jah" in several songs.

Well in TPM the other Gungans pronounce a certain other character's name like that... Jar Jar (say it with a gungan accent out loud).

So Lucas's true message of the prequels is:

Jar Jar Binks = God

Have a nice day!

Do Not Feed the Accusations of the Gungans Being Caricatures of Jamaicans.

BTW - on a related subject: Am I the only one to notice that Lama Su, prime minister of Kamino, happens to be named after the lammasu, a creature from Assyrian mythology?

Approaching Post hoc ergo promtor hoc fallacy barrier there.

Most likely a coincidence. The way Lucas creates character names and the like is that he (IIRC) makes up a name phonetically, and if he likes it, decides its spelling.

So God is a bumbling inept oaf who is easily manipulated by slacking his ego?

Cool.

Are you here referring to the case of Jar-Jar, or that of Lama Su? The Jar-Jar thing is most definately a coincidence...

although i find this somewhat disturbing, if there was indeed a god it would explain much. perhaps lucas was receiving divine inspiration and subconsciously displayed god's true nature on the big screen? :D

Why mine in particular? Lama Su's much more likely to be named after the lammasu than Jar-Jar is to be named after Jah.

Now now, people, remember: without Jar Jar, there may've never been an Empire!

Ergo, He is God. He may not act like it, but He knew what was best for the galaxy, obviously. :D

What is the role of the lammasu?

And because yours is a possible example of the post hoc ergo prompter hoc fallacy. Kurgan's just making a spammish joke.
