Were they all full fledged Jedi, or were they all Padawans?

most likely a bit of both because there are only so many full fledged jedis running around they probably(sp?) had to fill ou their ranks a little

I was thinking they were all Jedi Knights, because they probably feared padawans didn't have enough experience, and couldn't afford to lose them.

I'd say it's possible that they could have brought along some Padawans that are just about ready for knighthood. After all, Qui-gon brought Obi-wan along to Naboo and there are other cases where advanced Padawans were put into that kind of danger. I think they'd probably only the advanced ones as anything else would be monumentally stupid. But you do need to get out and in the real world or they'll be hopelessly lost when they become full-fledged Knights.

There are clearly both Jedi and Padawans there. EU references clearly indicate that Bariss Offee was merely a Padawan, but she served with distinction at the Battle of Geonosis, alongside her master. There are numerous other Padawans referenced in the EU and at SW.com, many of whom survived the battle along with the other masters and knights.

Remember, Mace Windu was planning to take ALL available Jedi to Geonosis, so they would definately grab their spare padawans. :twisted:

At least GL didn't send the Youngling Brigade to help more out of the kiddie demographic with his fans.

Can you imagine Yoda leading the Charge of the Youngling Brigade?

::shudder::

Well from everything we've seen of Padawans there are formidable long before they've taken the trials. The Force is indeed a powerful ally.

I would imagine that most of the knights took their padawans with them so if there were 200 jedis, perhaps even as many as half were padawans. Padawans aren't neccessarily weak, hell Obi took out Maul and Anakin gave Dooku a run for his money.

A lot of those jedis were showing off in the battle, many smiling or twirling their sabers unneccasirly - all behaviors that Obi showed as a padawan so I think it was indicative of a padawan heavy presence on Geonosis.

Because Jedi Knights are more experienced, it'd be more of a shame to lose them, therefore at the very least, Padawans would serve as good cannon fodder.. :twisted:

Perhaps some of the masters chose to take their padawan learners as a personal choice instead of an order. Or, only the padawans with enough training were sent. Can't some padawans be very young?

I think they took every Jedi who could handle themselves in a fight. Even then a hell of alot bought it at Geonosis. I remember that there were actually two dark Jedi present:Dooku and his trainee, Sev'Rance Tann. She took out a Padawan, who was a pretty good fighter, just for fun(and to tempt his master, Echuu Shen Jonn, to the darkside).

I heard some where that, a majority of the Jedi on Geonosis were mainly Padawans and some Jedi Knights.

Didn't Mace say "I will gather all available Jedi and head out to geonosis" My assumption would be that most of the available Jedi would be in the Temple and that most of them were Padewans witha few masters.

That would be fucking awsome! Yoda's personally trained minions. Leaping around like crazy monkeys.
