Has any character in the EU specifically brought up the question of which planet the human species ultimately evolved from?
I know this question has been brought up before on this board, but has it ever been asked by a character?

Never, to my knowledge.

I thought I read somewhere that they suspected Coruscant was the human homeworld, but it was so built up that any potential archaeological evidence has been obliterated.

Coruscant was originally too cold to be the human homeworld. Plus it was already the home planet for two other long extinct species.

I have a strong feeling telling me its Corellia or one planet in the Corellian system. Through the EU it seems that Corellia is the most Earth like planet. If not Corellia it has to be some coreward planet, i dont think Humans would have survived out in the Outer Rim with all those other nasty aliens out there. Theres Evidence that the 2 other popular planets for Human evolution can be disclaimed (Naboo and Coruscant) Naboo though very new to the EU and SW films a book "Ruin of Dantooine" pits the two main characters in a conversation about who was the first to Naboo were one character says that a theory is that the first human setterlers laned on Rori first than went to Naboo. And Coruscant just seems like a quick and easy way out to explain why Humans are in the Star Wars galaxy in the first place. My theory however is that since the Star Wars events take place a long time ago us humans traveld from the SW galaxy to Earth

I was always under the impression that these werent 'Humans', but were some kind of aliens that looked like humans, like the Peacekeepers on Farscape.
There simply is no evidence any 'Human' inhabited world is a homeworld, and there has never been any mention of Earth.
It seems that they could simply be some kin dof hominid (sp?) from another galaxy, who evolved on some planet similar enough to Earth (perhaps in the Corellia system) to make them appear Human. But notice we never see any Earth writing, nor are they actually speaking English but instead 'Basic'.

I seem to remember but I'm not totally sure; wasn't Anakin said to be human before the pod race in TPM? Can someone confirm this?

On the contrary, there's Vader chestplate which has Hebrew characters on it. Not to mention some Earth-origin critters turn up in the Lando Callrissian Trilogy.
But the simple fact is there wouldn't have to be overt traces of Earth. If Earth ever existed, it has been
at least 25,000 years since we left.

IMO, the SW galaxy is linked to our own galaxy. First off, how in the hell can humans evolve in another galaxy to become identical to our own species, even including every race we have here on Earth? What are the chances of that? The planet would have to be nearly identical to Earth and would have to have the near identical geological history as well. Billions of years of evolution would have to be the same as Earth's for it to work. I think it's extremely unlikely. I don't find it plausible at all that they evolved on another planet in another galaxy.
Also, what are the chances of that happening
again with another species? Namely, the ducks on Naboo. It even has the duck listed as a SW creature on sw.com. Here:
http://starwars.com/databank/creature/duck/?id=eu
They look identical to ducks here on Earth. Again, I ask what are the chances of another separate species evolving exactly in the same fashion?

The GFFA is larger and physically different from the Milky Way; humans and some subsentient species indigenious to Terra found their way there through unknown means.

GFAA? But yeah, that's what I said essentially. By "linked" I didn't mean the SW galaxy was our own galaxy.

How big is Andromeda?
Is it possible the SW humans are colonists from the Milky Way?

The Andromeda galaxy is about 70,000 kiloparsecs in diameter (about 230,000 light years) whereas our Milky Way is about 100,000 light years in diameter.

So it's possible that Andromeda could be the SW galaxy. Albeit, it appears two miniature galaxes have formed. It may be millions of years from now.

Just remember, the story is supposed to have taken place "Long, long ago." You can't set it too far in the future anyway, because eventually the Milky Way and Andromeda will collide (eventually meaning "in a few billion years"). But do note, Andromeda DOES have two satelllite elliptical galaxies.

Oh really
...guys, it's starting to look like these people were some kind of colony to me. Does anyone else see the way this could work. They colonized Andromeda in like a thousand years from now--25,000
in the past from their perspective--and thus we have SW.

Well, haven't certain fanfic writers suggested that the "long time ago" thing is because the Milky Way colonists went through a wormhole?
BTW - I have a particular theory, though it also veers off into somewhat ludicrous theories linking the Kaminoans to alien abductions and is firmly planted in Von Däniken territory.

Andromeda is around 12000 lightyears in diameter. It is unlikely to be the SW galaxy since it is the closest spiral galaxy while the SW galaxy was mentioned to be far far away.

There's a difference between a theory and just making stuff up.
IP and my theory involving the Hyperspace Aliens is a theroy that uses evidence from Canon and EU sources. Your "theory" (whatever it may be) involving the Kaminoans would be the latter, since it would be very unsupported by Canon or EU evidence.

Well, Spanky, we may need some revisions with the release of The Knights of the Old Republic RPG.
The Infinite Empire of Rakata predates the Jedi by over four thousand years...

Maybe not, if we assume that Humans were brought into the Galaxy sometime between 500K (decipherable historical records) and one million years ago (creation of the Corellian System), according to events described in Timetales.
So the theory is still quite sound.

I'm thinking about working on an essay about the origins of the Republic and Jedi and pre-Republic era, etc.

So the general consensus here is that SW takes place in our future, which means the "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" line indicates the audience is the future civilization looking back in history and that the Milky Way galaxy is linked to the SW galaxy?
