What would YOU do in this situation?!

My friend and I (Techno Union) have been getting in this debate what should the Empire do in this situation.

Lets say Kuat Drive Yards (KDY) is plotting to attack Rendili Yards to control them. You are in charge of the Empire what would you do here are your options, Let KDY and Rendili duke it out, help KDY, help Rendili, stay out of it period, or other.

You have to factor
*KDY would most likely win one on one
*Political, Economic and Public changes (ideals)
*If you support Rendili KDY would most likely pull away from the Empire and stop producing ships for the Empire.
*The winner will assimilate the other company into them

I would order a stop to their "war," and force them to either merge or have the Empire take over operations.

KDY does not have the supply chain or offensive resources to mount a campaign of conquest on Rendili's string of shipyards across the Outer and Mid Rims without the Empire's complicity which will not occur. The attack never happens, and the delusional directors responsible for such an idea are "retired."

I would stop the war since damage to suppliers of Imperial war machinery could be bad.

They would never be able to afford to stop making ships for the empire,

they'd go out of business

Out of the debate Jax and I had, I was the one who would stop the war, he wanted the war to happen.

Reasons for stopping the war:

**Rendili is loyal to the Empire

**Rendili has been with the Empire longer

**KDY and Rendili could destroy shipyards that the Empire uses

Consequences for KDY's actions:

**KDY, who in our debate initiated the war/takeover, would be punished with higher taxes, new board of directors, good amount of shipyards would be put under direct control of the Imperial Government/Navy

**New laws would be put into place for KDY to follow to prevent them from being able to start another war. Since KDY needs the Empire's support, they will be forced to comply.

**KDY's board of directors will be put into jail with no bail

**The Imperial Military would have a more aggressive nature in the Kuat system and outlying Kuat shipyards to prevent another hostile takeover/mini-war

But for the sake of this thread, lets just assume that it did happen. Easy solution. Nationalize both of them.

Yeah...it doesn't seem likely they would go to war with each other in the first place, since the executives must have a realization the Empire isn't just going to let them have a war.

I don't see a overt hostile takeover ever happening, but a covert one is more up KDY's alley. I could see them using agents to sabotage RSD's production, causing delays in production, and then going to the Empire saying KDY needs to take over. KDY could also buy or influence RSD's suppliers, causing further trouble. If anybody is caught, deny everything!

Pfft, KDY would be incredibly stupid for trying to fuck with the Empire.

The Empire may not support this. Rendill and KDY are both important suppliers of war machinery to the Empire. Disrupting Rendills operations would hurt the Empire. It would be in the Empires best interest to stop the war.

The Empire would stop the war since competion between two ship builders means better ships in the long range. I dont think KDY would do this since the empire is their NUMBER ONE customer. They would be best off if they worked on making superior ships for the Empire.

That's fucking stupid. Do we, "for the sake of the thread" consider the ramifications of the Federation conquering the Empire? No. Why? Because its practically impossible.

Well, this event could theoretically happen, unlike the Federation conquering the Empire, so it is valid, while far-fetched and hare-brained.
