Ok, we've heard of all the Rebels' wing-class fighters...which do you like the most?

X-wing: all-around
Y-wing: durable, versitile
A-wing: fast, manueverable
B-wing: lots of weapons
K-wing: heavy bomber
V-wing: atmospheric
E-wing: all-around

My favorite is the X-wing, for it's ability to perform almost any mission: interception, assault, dogfighting, etc.

A-Wing. It's fast, agile, ridiculously under-armed and -armoured I admit. But fast.
I also like the way that only maladjusted and ridiculously cocky pilots seemingly flew them in the early days. There's glamour there. In the A-Wing, you're either an all-conquering Demi-God, or you're dead; very little lies between.

I know, that's my favorite -wing fighter. Fast, heavily armed. It's the fighter you want when you have to make some one dead. What's not to love?

A-Wing. A good-looking shape, an efficient fighter. Heck, someone even manage to kill the SSD Executor with it. Not bad, if you ask me!

But they died doing it. I'd like something I'm gonna come back from a mission in. An A-wing is just too fragile for that. One hit and you're dead.

Yeah, the A-wing has shields. The problem is it's weak, no where near the level of the X-wing or Y-wing and certainly less than the newer fighters. The A-wing trades speed for, well, everything else. Not the kind o fighter I'd want to take into battle; as a purely recreational ships is whole other story.

I liked the B wing. it wasn't very fast but it sure was armed. You could do some serious damage in that thing.

Y-Wing for me it is a ship of beauty just like Han Solo's feelings toward the "piece of junk" The Falcon.
The Y-Wing may be slow but it's slick and is evil looking if you look at it straight.

X-Wing. It's the best looking one out of them all.

Y-wing of course.

Awing is the Mazda Miata of the -wing fighters. Looks flashy. Acts flashy. About as pratical as sunscreen on pluto.

Xwing is the 'vet. All the hotshots want to use it. Generaly ok, but just doesn't sit right with me.

The Bwing is the full sized pickup. Yea, it has it moments, and there's no doubting that when you need it, making do with less isn't gonna cut it. But, like the truck, it's not the most "easy riding".

The K V and E I don't know ennough to say.

the B-win, however, is the Dodge Dart with the Slant-6. It does everything. May not be the best at anything. May be slower, or less comfortable then some. But it's reliable as the sunrise, and just may continue to work even longer then that...

So you guys climb into your hotshot Xwing and Awings and go have fun. But when the shit hits the fan, the Y-wings will be there, as always, pulling not only their weight, but some of yours as well...

E-Wing.

That's why it's my favorite. It has the firepower to kill anything it can't outrun and outrun anything it can't kill. All in all it has the best mix of speed and firepower (a whole lotta both).

Can we say "design flaws?" The E-Wings lasers suck as far as range and power goes, and the USAF has learned exactly how cannonless fighters don't work. Alternatively, if you want the lasers to be worthwhile, you can overcharge them and risk explosive overload. Nice choice.

The E-Wing strikes me as a failed NR attempt to match the performance of the TIE Defender; or possibly to mix and match a B-Wing with an X-Wing.

I liek the A-wing. It's fast, sleek, small, and I just get a good feeling flying one in a video game.

Y-wings are clearly superior to X-wings.

I voted X-Wing. The Y-Wing is wonderful, it's truely enjoyable in the games and I like how it looks. However, it's laser cannons always seem weak. However, the X-Wing really flies circles plus it's firepower backs it up.

The only reason the design flaws were in was because there wasn't enough time to work them all out before they had to be tossed into action. The E-Wings in the NJO seem to be much more satisfactory.

I prefer the B-wing. Mainly because I loved this ship in X-Wing vs Tie Fighter.

Let the hotshots do the fancy flying. I just pulverize everything.

Sad but true; I am a lousy starfighter pilot (Freespace, X-wing vs Tie Fighter).
But I am a great bomber pilot.

No they're not. They're slower, but more heavily shielded. Way more heavily shielded. Plus, they have more torps, but X-wings can fire more blasters at any given time. They're roughly equal except against TIE/Is.

But then you have to weigh in the upgraded X-Wings, which are superior in every capacity except as a bomber.

Anyone who thinks that the K-Wing is the least bit cool needs to re-examine their lives.
