Okay, I'm currently kitbashing some SW ships (micromachine size, so it's delicate work). I need to know what colors to paint them.

Imperial ships are sometimes white or dark blue.
SDs are what? Navy grey and darker grey?

The RA ships have a warmer, almost beige color it seems. And lots of reddish-orange highlights. Mon cals are brown and orange and tan?

Can anyone help me with specific color names? Or give good color scheme ideas that shout "Imperial" or "NR"?

ISD's are whitish-gray, IIRC. TIE's in the first movie were about the same shade as the ISD's, but in ESB and ROTJ they were more bluish (still black solar panels and black/clear cockpits, to be sure...).

Not sure about Rebel Alliance/NR craft, but for captured Imperial craft I'd say they keep the same old colors-- perhaps paint a RA/NR logo on them, though, like they did with the Lusankya in one of the comic books (Crimson Empire, IIRC). Your idea of beige/warm colors does seem accurate enough... also dark gray or tan-ish.

Actually, there are many exceptions. On Curtis Saxton's website I've found pics of Mon Cal ships in white, blue, bluish-grey and even golden colours.

However, most Mon Calamari ships seem to be some shade of beige or grey.

Star Destroyers are pure white.

I think they're more of a dark off-white at best.
Compare the shade of ISDs with the white Imperial shuttle, and they look a lot darker.
Anyway,I guess I'll just have to try mixing colors until they look right.
