Your favorite SW movie
I think about every SW movie (apart from TPM) was my favorite at some point. But if i really had to choose i choose TESB. Maybe because its the darkest of all movies (maybe this will change after episode 3), maybe because Darth was a lot more scarier than in ANH, maybe because of the imperial march song, maybe because of Hoth, maybe because it didnt had cute creatures in it, maybe because...

TESB.
Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Darth Vader's his father. It ends on such a down note, and that's all life is. A series of down endings.

Empire Strikes back has the best in every category that counts.

No it isn't. The explosions weren't big enough.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

I like them all, yes even TPM and AOTC.
no need to say why i like the OT
I like TPM because it's got some good action in it, especially the final lightsabre fight. Jar Jar Binks, while annoying, does provide some amusement when he's kicked in the nuts. The only purely bad thing is Anakin and by that i meam everything about him. The actor, the dialogue his character shield in the final battle, everything!
I like AoTC because of the action as well. We get to see how badass some jedi are ("oh look i'm jango Fett, i'm so cool, i'm- oh shit!"*slice*), Anakin gets his ass kicked and Jar Jar binks existence is finally given reason. While the romance dialogue sucked (there is grounds to defend it but i can't be arsed) it is easily out weighed by the amount of shit getting blown up!

that was a cool fight i agree on that, especiallly compared with the lightsabre duels from the classic trilogy. It bothered me however they showed 3 battles at once (space + ground + jedi duel). Ok, you could say all that shit happened at once but the more continuous battles in ATOC made it all more tense to watch2000AD wrote:

Another reason i liked TPM was Darth Maul. He just looked bad ass and when he entered with the big chant in Dual of Fates it rocked! (especially in a surround sound cinema!)

TESB.
The way the story and plot moved was excellent for a space opera story, that it truly demonstrated how bad ass Vader in many, many respects.

It's difficult to decide between ESB and AOTC, but after some consideration, AOTC takes it home. Granted, ESB has both the second most important scene of SW so far (Vader's revelation, the most important IMO being the final duel between Vader and Luke in ROTJ) and the best overall space scene (the asteroid chase, the BEST space scene ever in ANY franchise), but AOTC is better told, has a better story and far better acting (yes, Mark Hamill, anyone?). Many have complained about the romantic scenes, but they aren't THAT long, and the dialogue is good. I mean, what experience could Anakin have with women in that monestary? He lived with his mother until he was ten, and then became a padawan. It's no surprise that the dialogue is cheesy. I think Lucas (and Hales) did a good job.
Wow, 80% TESB...I ick it because it was the coolest movie ever. It was the first Star Wars movie I saw, and it's just awesome. Those Star Destroyers sacred the shit out of me...the AT-ATs advancing on Hoth, the hand slicing, the greatest line of any movie, ever...""No... I am your father." And I never saw ANH till many years after, but read the novelization. ROTJ was like the sequel to me, and it was good, but nothing beats the original for me...
EDIT: Happy now?

RotJ just barely edges out ahead of TESB. While the Ewoks and Lapti Nek were horribly annoying, and the rank cylinders were screwed up, the Emperor more than makes up for it. Ian McDiarmid carries the entire movie, even with his few short scenes. That, and the Emperor's theme. And of course, the best scene in any movie, ever, bar none

Gah!! Possibly the most famous line in movie history, and Vader didn't even say it! It's: "No... I am your father."Phantasee wrote:Wow, 80% TESB...I ick it because it was the coolest movie ever. The Empire Strikes Back. Hoth rocked. And seeing Vader just lay waste to Luke was awesome, too.

I guess I'm just a sucker for big explosions and classic lines. I take ANH, which produced some of my favorite lines from the series. And while I'm sure plenty of you were all expecting Han to save Luke's ass at that last second, I for one, was on the edge of my seat when Vader got a lock on his X-wing.

Then I want to fight a grim battle against the unlikely duo of the Terminator and Robocop. ESB by far, being one of the few movies where the bad guys essentially win, with the good guys constantly running. Darker and more serious than any of the other movies PT or OT.
Just sucks because I think Lucas didn't fully approve of everything Lawrence Kasdan did with the story, I think if they'd let him direct all of the Star Wars movies they could've shaved all the cheesiness out of the other movies.
