Just like the title says, where does hypermatter come from and how is it collected?

i dont think hypermatter is collected iirc it is a name for the singularity drive

It is gathered by collecting stations orbiting black holes, IIRC. I don't have my copy of the ICS2 on hand, unfortunately.

That's repulsor manufacturing (and likely generic power production too, Saxton points out that possibility on his page).

Where hypermatter comes from, we don't know. I suspect it can either be produced as a net energy loss or collected on the fly from hyperspace and the ejecta and anhilation mass for starships produced as a net energy loss (hence explaining how the ships can operate for such long times without resupply, they can produce more ejecta to replace what they used, but eventually it still runs out and they need to be refueled)

So it's manufactured from black holes? Interesting. Is hypermatter supposed to be clusters of smaller "primordial" black holes or something?

Usually when one person tells another person that they're wrong, other people keep track of it. ;)

No.
And the problem with that is? My understanding is that if you are going to use black holes for power, you want the really small primordial ones because they give you the best bang for your buck.

So sorry to have offended all the resident astrophysicists. :P

No, it's black holes being used in regards to hypermater production that's false. As Ender pointed out, I was thinking of the entry on repulsorlifts.

Don't you have the slighest clue about whats being said in this thread?
The biggest problem with it is that it's now how hypermatter is being made.

Ahh I see, nevermind then. My reading comprehension is distinctly subpar today.
