Well, there's a new pic from the proposed changes to SW for the OT DVD. And it's, different.
May 19 entry.
I would have linked to the AICN article but the pic seems to be down there.
They say it's authentic. And I think it's really really odd. And stupid.
I mean, every other Jedi spirit we've seen has looked the age they were at when they died. So why the hell is Anakin spirit looking like Hayden?
Sure Jabba looked fucked up in ANH and it was fucked up that Greedo shot first, but this one just makes no sense at all.

I don't believe it, looks false. Want to know why? Because they aren't using Ewan McGreggor for Obi ghost. If it is true, then Lucas truely has gone nutso, sort of like Hitler.

AICN is not a credible source.

The Digital Bits is claiming it's authentic.

If this is true, then fuck LFL.........
Personally I think it's BS though, wasn't the last one from that site (The one about changing the emperor's face in the Holocomm scene) proven to be fake?

He died looking like Sir Alec Guiness though.
This is one change that doesn't bother me as much as the others, mainly because there's a reason for it. Greedo shooting first had no reason I can discern aside from making Han more PC as a hero.

Yeah, and Anakin died looking like Sebastian Shaw. Or did you happen to miss that part of the movie?

I thought the ghost was supposed to represent Anakin before he turned to the dark side?

But as a ghost he looked different than he did when he died. He has hair and no visible scars. It seems like that's supposed to be what he would have looked like if he had never gone to the darkside and fallen in lava. This new version on the other hand looks like him before he went to the darkside. I don't think that really makes less sense.
Though that doesn't mean I think it should be changed...

I like the rumored change. I mean, it would further bridge the PT woth the OT and it makes perfect sense. Think about what Vader told Luke in ROTJ:
Luke: Let go of your hate!
Vader: It is too late for me my son.
Indeed. It's possible that Anakin dies in Episode III and that he afterwards only is kept alive by the powers of the Dark Side with a little help from his "iron lung". His "good" Jedi spirit is trapped within him. Close to his death Anakin says: "Nothing can stop that [death] now." No, Anakin is already dead, and his spirit is set free after his death. Remember, that if Anakin had already died in Episode III, the spirit would naturally reflect his appearance as a young man.
What do you think about that? Does it sound corny? Well, we'll know in September if the rumour is true or not and if it is, then perhaps Episode III will shed some light on the matter.

According to numerous insiders, this is real, both the change and the pic.
Those of you who are complaining, calm down. Whatever happens it´s just a movie, not the basis of your existence.*

Please let it be bullshit.

There, there, I´m sure the nice mr. Lucas will make a special, un-altered version just for you....

Don't patronise me.
I don't like the
rumoured changes, and I make no pretence about that. If you can tell me why seeing Hayden Christensen's face is both
necessary and
required for the ROTJ DVD, then by all means do so. If you can tell me why it is no vital to replace Sebastian Shaw's face with Hayden Christensen's, then do so.

From my perspective, it's almost amusing to see the Star Wars fan community melt down into a quivering mass of anguish over this. This is how I felt when I saw the special editions of the OT and it's all gone downhill from there, to the point that I've stopped caring how it all ends.

Because Sebastian Shaw looks to darn
old in that shot, he looks like the 80-year old man he was.

Geez, I was just trying to lighten the moment.
Remind me to send you a Goatse-man "Get well"-card next time you have a breakdown.
And, NO, it isn´t completely necessary, except to point out that Anakin died in Ep. III and his soul was kept locked up in the suit for 20 years (if that´s the case in III)
Because Sebastian Shaw looks too darn old in that shot
That´s true, and I haven´t heard anything about changing his scene in the suit, so we get both actors in VI.

Come on! GL can't be that stupid!
Luke would be thinking something like: "Oh there's Ben, and Yoda! And... who the FUCK is that?!". If they're going to put Hayden's face there instead of Sebastian Shaw's, they have to change Luke's expression to be more like:
. He knew Darth Vader was his father, he saw what he looked like under his mask. He did NOT know how he looked fucking 20 years ago! He couldn't possibly know that guy beside Yoda was supposed to be his father!
The only way to fix it would be to...
replace Shaw's face with Hayden's in the Death Star scene too!!
Nooooo! This can't be true!!!

If that's the case then fine.

So you would replace him with Hayden Christensen, who's too darn
young for that shot?

He did NOT know how he looked fucking 20 years ago!
Answer: The Force helped him recognise his father.
Let´s face it, everytime some weird supernatural thing happens in SW, use the Force-argument.
too darn young for that shot
He doesn´t look that young to me.

What the fuck? Hayden Christensen looks like he's still in his teens, for crying out loud. And Dooey Joe is right: you can't have one and the other as well, you have to have either Sebastian Shaw or Hayden Christensen for BOTH shots. Otherwise it doesn't make sense; Luke SAW what his father looked like once the helmet came off.

I hate how people rationalize this crap by basically saying that Lucas is actually correcting a "flaw" in the OT ("Sebastian Shaw was too old") when all he's really doing is revising good Star Wars to conform to the overriding authority of shitty Star Wars.
