Star Wars and WW2

I am currently watching "Dam Busters" on the History Channel. I am well aware that Lucas took alot of information on weapons and such based on WW2 things. But in a documentary of real air traffic from the British pilots attacking Nazi dams i was shocked to hear that the pilots speak words that are almost exactly like the Rebels attacking the First Death Star. Words spoken in WW2 "How many guns do you think there are"
"I count 10 guns, some on the surface some down below"
I was wondering if any body else knows of this or anyone with other WW2 or other war quotes that appear in Star Wars

Considering that Lucas and ILM used footage from movies like and including The Dam Busters as placeholders for effects shots, that's not at all surprising.

From watching the "previsualization of EP I" on the DVD, he tells you how he used WWII movies to help with ANH. One being when the MF escaped the DS while Luke and Han battled the TIEs, the lines are taken right from a WWII movie. Sorry for no specifics.

I was sure there were other things out there, it was just odd to hear words spoken through diffrent voices that had nothing to do with Star Wars that i always thought they were original Luke, Han or Leia words

Yes I also saw that material of how Lucas used WW2 info to help with
the films. I thought it was on the AoTC dvd, but I could be wrong.
It shows split screen, Luke in the gunner's seat on the falcon, other side
of the screen has a WW2 gunner doing the same. Planes in attack
patterns identical to WW2 planes, etc, it was cool, he did a great job.
In fact, talking about it, now I want to see that again!

Hmmm, it could have been, actaully I think it was now that you mention it.
