Seems both Naboo and the Jedi-Temple are still around come ROTJ....

Um, what the hell is it? :|

EDIT: Nevermind, just turns out the thing is taking a fuck and forever for me to load.

It may be just me, but the nature of their source might be a little risky to link here...

Hmmm, maybe I should pull the link and just let people PM me for pics (and the Anakin video clip)...

What say the mods?

I say leave it. The Anakin pics look fake to me. I can't fathom what sort of legal trouble we're in for simply *looking* at something someone else is hosting.

I'll assume that this is real for now. I really doubt it is, though.
* Light Sabers changed for Vader versus Ben Kenobi Death Star duel.
Hopefully modified to match Obi-Wan's Saber during the Clone wars.
* TractorBeam control now in Aurebesh.
It better be readable.

* Emperor replaced with Ian McDiarmid.
Dialogue in this scene has been slightly modified, indicating either that the Emperor knows it was Luke who nuked the Death Star, or that he is Vader's son. Maybe both. Otherwise, dialogue remains in tact. Emperor's theme from Jedi also added into the scene.
I hate it when they go back and change the dialougue. I'm cool with Ian McDiarmid as Emperor, but it messes up the plot when they change dialougue.

* Hayden Christenson has replaced Sebastian Shaw only in the Force Ghost shot.
You would think that they could at least make a composite of Shaw and Christensen. The Hayden shot just looks too fake by itself.
* Line about Leia remembering her mother while talking to Luke on the Ewok Village veranda has either been omitted, or modified.
That would help with continuity if Lucas doesn't resolve this, but I prefer to leave it unchanged.
* Naboo has been added to the final planetary celebration montage at the end of the movie. It is a shot very similar to the helicopter shot of Theed in TPM when AATs are moving up the street towards the palace.
That may be quite interesting to see, assuming that Naboo still has political importance.

I'm kinda wondering how one can use suspension of disbelief with the Special Editions and the rumored DVDs. It seems a bit confusing if you have three different versions of canon.

Each newer version overrides the previous one, so there's no source of conflict over which is the correct version.

And by changing the lightsabers during Vader and Kenobi's duel in ANH, I assume they mean fixing the lightsaber blades that they skipped over during the first pass with the Special Edition.

I don't think the the changes will have such a impact on the suspension of disbelief. Most of it is so trivial, that it won't really matter.

You haven't seen any of the publically available Episode III web-docs or screenshots? Obi-Wan's Episode III lightsabre = Episode IV lightsabre. He changed sabres at some point during the Clone Wars. He probably lost it. Again.

What they mean is that embarassing SFX gaffe where Obi Wan's lightsabre turns into a stick, and maybe touching up the rotoscoping. Everyone knows that one.

He sure as hell doesn't look to be in his 40s. That's why its stupid.

Well, what I meant was that because in the same thread they flat out discuss where and how to get the rip.

Eeeehhh, the Anakin-ghost thing aint fake, I´m watching the clip right now. You can find several downloads of it on the site. Looks ok, even if he´s got this creepy smile and stare. They removed Sebastian Shaw´s eyebrows when he´s in the suit, and possibly some features of his face to make him look more Hayden-like...

"Directed by: Georges Lucas"? Who's that? George Lucas's French cousin?

Not particularly impressed with the end of Return of the Jedi, I really didn't see the need from either a story point of view or a practical point of view for Sebastian Shaw to be replaced.

Plus it looks crap, really really crap

I don't suppose anyone knows if they're gonna fix the corvette before frigate mistake in ROTJ?

Well, I don't really have a problem with Anakin in RoTJ, but the bit with Theed at the end of RoTJ is a bit too much for me. I'd rather not be reminded of that turd TPM at the end of the saga.

I do hope they fix the last shot of RoTJ - they go from the the last shot of the main characters standing together into the credits WAY too quick without providing any continuity between the music in that shot and the credits. It was an atrocious edit.

Also, if this is in fact true, I presume it means Hayden will be edited into the scene where Luke unmasks Vader, because Anakin in that shot bears little resemblance to the actor who played the unmasked Vader.

Shaw hasn't been replaced in the unmasking scene. The only alterations they did there was remove his eyebrows.

Yes. That's what I meant by "Clone Wars". I should have been more specific, but I was referring to his saber in ROTS. I had forgotten what his ANH saber ha dlooked like.

I caught that one somethime back. I would like to see 100% CG rotoscoping, though. The CG sabers look FAR better than the painted ones.

Exactly. They need to age either age Hayden, make a composite, or leave it as is.

I bet you could count on one hand the number of people outside of this board who know about that mistake. So my guess is they didn't fix it, unfortunately.

Perhaps the intention is to have Anakin appear as he was when he stopped being a Jedi -- which was as he appeared near the end of Ep3. Of course, that would appear to reduce the importance of his redemption, but hey, it's a theory.

The theory could be that when Anakin "dies" in ROTS (heh, gotta start using that ;)) his soul become trapped inside the "Vader-shell". When he dies in ROTJ, his soul is released, looking like it did 24 years ago. So Sebastian Shaw = Vader´s visage, with the Hayden-spirit inside. :P

That's just somebody's signature picture of Jar Jar photoshopped into the picture. It's not actually part of the DVD version, because there's another thread in that forum about that very scene, and no one says a single word about a Gungan being there.

There is a scene during the fleet battle where a frigate in the foreground is suppost to pass in front of a corvette in the background, but ILM accidentally put the corvette film in front of the frigate film, thus totally fucking up scaling. It's on the far left so you won't catch it if you watch the movie in full screen. I tried to see if I could get a screen cap for you, but my source's image quality isn't good enough to see the mistake in a freeze frame, you can only see it in motion.
