Superlaser effects and a sun?

Now I am not a very scientific man by nature, but a question has been on my mind a couple days now. I did a search and did not find this topic, so if it has been discussed then I am sorry.

What would happen if the DS I or II fired its superlaser into a sun? Also, what would happen if the Eclipse did the same?

Thanks.

Nothing important, because it's a star. Maybe it'll make the sun spit some hellfire at the DS like puss from a pimple?

Considering that Eclipse's superlaser is much weaker than DSI and II's, it would be even more insignificant.

I think we've had this question before, and IIRC, it was determined that neither superlaser would have much of an effect.

It might create a huge mass ejection. But I don't see the point, when its weaponry could be so much more destructive when used directly against the target.
