What's your favourite SW novel?

While DE is not a novel, but a comic, it is still my favorite.

I just really like Rebel Stand, it made the NJO soo goooood!
Aaron Allstons writing style and humor is also perfect for SW I think.

Starfighter's of Adumar.

Action, humour, romance, the fab four and Adumari etiquette. What more could you ask for.

And written by Aaron Allston too I hear, this guy ranks up there with Zahn.

I don't have the book but I have a quote in my site wich aptly demonstrates X-wing firepower

Wedge: Sithspit! What's that?
Janson: That's the sun Wedge. It's after dawn
Wedge: Well, it offends me. Turn it off
Janson: It's a 130, 140 million klicks from here
Wedge: Go up in your X-Wing and shoot it down for me

It's unfortunate, but many people I see start threads like "The hatred I feel toward Zahn" and "Zahn raped my childhood" It is ridiclous. He is a good author, and, lke you, I couldn't choose between his books.

WTF?
What kind of fucked people are those?

No my kind of people for sure.

That's why Zahn never goes on SW boards like the other authors sometimes do.

What SW boards are those? You mean theforce.net?

Virtually all SW boards, and paticularly that one.

No? I read Darksaber, it flowed like a Voyager episode, it was mediocre at best.
And whats this fascination he was with putting brains in robots and transferring of consciousness and stuff like that? Is he Transcend?

Great, another excuse to rant about the utter shite churned out by KJA. Emperor Palpatine said "you will pay the price for your lack of vison"- unfortunately KJA hasn't.

His books always seem to involve two completely seperate plots that have nothing to do with each other, as if he can't think of one decent one.

In The Jedi Acadamy trilogy, he expects us to believe that four star destroyers is a massive threat to the NR. In Darksaber, the superlaser the book is titled after is never actually a threat.

Utter, utter shite.

Thankfully I've heard that KJA will never write for SW again.

Hmm, if emotions run that high against Tim Zahn on TheForce.net then it may well be possible that he's the Star Wars author somebody tried to kill a while ago because of a suggestion started on forum boards. I also noticed in his recent novels his biographical info is much more vague about where he lives now. Ok I just realized how stupid that sounded...

Logistics Logisctis Logiscitcs

Not a threat to the whole freken republic but the point is well made

Put it another way
Bank-robbers are annyoing right?
Remeber the *super robbers a few years back? In Califrona they had full Body Kevlar and it Kevlar hoods the cops tried shooting them but the kevlar just took it they got back up and sprayed the cops

No one got killed but they almost walked away(In the End cops ran to a local gun shop for some heavier fire-power and got all three)

Imagin the same situation(Bank-robbers) but give them Apachi Helcopters or maybe Abarums tanks

Sure the US has a bunch of those but its not the cops who have em

Same situation

Why do people not like Zahn? His books are my favourite SW books. The X-Wing and the later(SBS and on)NJO tie for second.

I also like Zahn's other books ( non-SW)

Some people got no reason to live

Anyone who thinks that Aaron Allston is anywhere near as good as Tim Zahn should rethink their lives, or move to a European country with a decent education system. The only other SW writer who can even challenge Zahn on that is Denning, because of SbS. Overall, I think that Zahn writes better plots and Denning has a slightly cleaner, more polished style. I give the slight edge to Zahn and the wonderful Heir to the Empire, but only because Star by Star's title was incredibly stupid. If you don't believe me about Denning, compare SbS's depictions of combat with the BOOK Blackhawk Down. And for God's sake, many of you people need to read real books instead of Hop on Pop, once in a while.

Stackpole is probably at the top of my list, some of his books tie with Zahn's IMHO.
