I am watching ANH on telly, and just watched the bit where Vader walks into the hanger bay to inspect the MF with an officer.. How many officers have trod on Vader's cape? and how many have lived to tell about it?

I'd imagine very few would actually dare to be close enough to Vader to step on the cape.

I didn't notice that bit. I didn't think Vaders cape ever touched the floor. I noticed his cape swish behind as he walks in the movies. That would be a funny situation though if Vader turns around or walks away causing the officer standing on his cape too close behind him to fall.

I just saw an America's Funniest Home Video's the other day, in which the homecoming queen at a school was walking on stage and someone stepped on her dress, ripping it off and leaving her in her underwear in front of the entire audience.
I'm imagining this with Darth Vader. One moment he's walking, then someone steps on his cape, and "ACK!" he chokes and trips and falls on the floor. Then he gives one glance at the officer standing on his cape, and he screams like a girl and runs

This is only ancillary to the point, and I've said it before, but General Veers has Balls of Steel. If Vader turned around and ordered me to prepare my men men with that scary fucking mask *cm away from my face*, I would've fallen into one of the crew pits (if there was one around).

Oh yeah, General Veers had some big ones. He stood right behind Vader only cms away and he delivered the bad news about the rebels being alerted to the fleet approaching Hoth, unflinchingly and to Vader. He knew he was risking his life but he acted very proffesionally. I suppose Vader respected officers who stood their ground and didn't cower like babies.

I don't suppose anyone has a picture of this?
