Corporative sector questions
How, when and why did it come into existence? What is its exact situation within the Empire? How powerful is it?

I can only answer a few questions... they had their own ships called Marauder-class Corvettes... a decent ship, not very large. They purchased at least 250 VSDs from the Empire as planetary defense ships.
They are on the far end of one of the spiral arms of the SW galaxy. I am not sure if they were under the control of the Empire, or if they were a provence of some sort.
When did it come into exsitance, well it had to be after the Clone Wars but before ANH.
Sorry I can't be of any more help.

It was the former personal fiefdom of the Baron Tagge, if I remember correctly. A corporate mishmash given localized soverignty by the Empire in return for a share of its profits.
The C.S.A. is a moderate power. Apparently, it managed to survive the Yhuuzan-Vong (probably by being too far out of the way to make an appealing target, and potentialy by possessing many already "dead" mining worlds). Certainly not by power's sake.

God's in His Heaven, all's right with the world
The Corporate Sector was almost in the direct line of the Vong invasion.
If you look at the map's in the NJO novels, if they had taken a 'left' (along there invasion course) turn of 90 degree's around Daithimor and gone 2000 or so light years (rough guess), they'd have had an area of 10,000 inhabitable worlds that were devoid of life to play with.
Hell, the Vong should have invaded the CS first. Since it was rather closed off at the time, they could have ran wild through it and just claimed to have been unnoticed natives that are fighting back. Quiet build up in CS territory , then launch a massive, massive invasion instead of there moderate invasion.

I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.
It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.
