Erm ... all I see is vague shapes Crix.

It might be the "BG Ship" that was featued on SW Hyperspace several years ago- i.e. the unidentified Rebel warship.

They could be Carracks with cloud spots behind them.

It might be this. A Flurry escort carrier.

EDIT: But, yeah, could be the Neb-B, silly me.

To me it look like a Nebulon-b and it's shadow.

The bumps aren't the right size for N-B.

Assuming the ships are in formation, or at the same range as the Mon-Cals, they're too big for Carracks. You're right about the clouds, though.

Its shadow? On what, the cloud cover? Both sticks are missing the engine section for it to be a Nebulon-B

They could also just be some sort of construction ship, and not a part of the battle at all.

Just another unidentified Imperial starship. Certaintly not a Hapan Nova Cruiser--and if it were, it would be of the captured-and-refit-for-the-Imperial-Navy variety.

I zoomed in on it in paint, and I would have to agree with the Carrack assesment, the shadows below look like dark spots in the cloud formations on the planet. At first glance I thought it may be a horribly out of scale B-wing

I think better and multible screen captures are needed, to see more details and how they move (if at all).

Right now all I can say is that they're Nebulons very far away, Corvettes from far away and intersecting cloud variations on Endor, or a new ship that hasn't been identified.

Could be the "Y-head Corvette" that was revealed last year.

But right now I request better multiple screencaps, because if that up there is all we'll be forced to work with, then we'll be up Shit Creek paddle-less real quick.

I say they look like Nebulon-Bs. There is a bulge at the back end if you look at it.

They are Nebulon-Bs. Check out this high-resolution image from SWTC

Has there ever been anything as useful as the Star Was Technical Commentaries?

If they are Neb-B`s... Then they fly backwards.

In the scene they fly from right to left.

Which is not a big deal at all. Star Wars ships can fly backwards, and since the Rebel fleet was repositioning itself to engage the Star Destroyers, executing such a maneuver is in no way a stretch.

While entirely possible, it's not the norm. They wouldn't have any reason to do so. And they no longer look like any ship I've ever seen. There's 2 more below them, and they confirm the shape.

They're Nebulon B mark 2s, as seen in TIE Fighter and a couple other sources, apparently including RotJ. The high resolution bags it; you can see the double protrusion at the front where the Mark 1 only has one hull section jutting down.

:? Uh, its a perfect side view; there's only Nebulon-B standards.

They are quite obviously Nebulon-Bs in that hi-res shot, and they appear to be the right size if they're relatively close to the Mon-Cals.

No they aren't. If I wasn't on a lab comp I'd download the high res and circle it for you, but I can't. The side view is just a tad off, and if you look to the right side of the front section you can see a second protrusion emerging from behind the one facing us on both ships.

Edit: There's a second pair of Nebulon Bs directly below the Mon Cal that's to the left of the Falcon, and they look like standards. Are they what you were looking at? Because I'm looking at the pair to the right of the Mon Cal and just below the Falcon.

I just gave you a reason; a pretty obvious one at that. The fleet had to not only reverse course, but reform for a combat engagement. Ships had to be shuffled around.

Phongn posted a higher resolution and more detailed photo for a reason. Try to pay attention.

No, you're seeing the darker parts of the hull and the lighter, narrower part that's flat hull plating.

If you look closely at the larger picture, you'll notice the same effect you think is the double hull extending to the very bow of the ship. That's because the very tip is also "unplated."

No, I'm seeing the reason why Crix thought they were Hapan Novas. The front (which he thought was the Nova's rear) is split, like a Mark 2, making them resemble reversed Novas from a distance. You only see a little bit of the starboard hull protrusion because it's a side view, but they're not perfectly perpendicular to the camera angle and you can make out the second protrusion.
