Mass of the Death Star I
I searched the board but it returned every thread with the words "Death" "Star" and "mass" in it, so that didn't help...

Nearly impossible to determine. We don't know the mass of the majority of the materials, the amount of armour, etc. The best we can do is use the mass-equivalent of the energy it pumps out.. Except that too is not accurate(Hypermatter's complex mass doesn't have a proper density).
'Heavy' is probably best.

Dry mass is very conservatively in the 1e18 kgs range. However, its required ejecta and reactor mass would have to be numerous orders of magnitude greater (solar masses worth even). But as Nitram points out, it is complex in form, so we can't really estimate it. You might try based off its lack of recoil and conservation of momentum, but complex matter means that that might only be the case when it has to deal with that kind of reaction force and not typical.

These calculations were done in the simple windows calculator so they are not very accurate.
Let's assume the Death Star has the average density of a known heavy metal like mercury.
Density = 13000 kg / per meter cubed.
Pie = 3.14
Radius of death star in meters = 160 / 2 * 1000 = 80000 meters
Volume of a sphere is 4 / 3 * 3.14 *rE3
4 / 3 * 3.14 * 80000
= 2.6555E15 kg .
Of course the Death Star will be heavier than this since it probobly has section made of superdense matter like neutronium or hypermatter.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Just ignore him. He's either being very stupid, or trolling, and on his very first post, no less. Could be a record.Lord Revan wrote:By do mean Enterprice NCC-1701(-#)?

Yeah if he truly mean ST Enterprise, he should be ignored since he's even worse then Stamos (thats probaly a record).Darth Garden Gnome wrote:Just ignore him. *Bzzt* Wrong fanwhore, there is no proof that the vast majority of DBZ attacks use DET to destroy their targets. As such you have no evidence that the energy level they can output would in any way harm the DS(and my terminology sucks, oh well).Caboose wrote:You guys know that Brolly would kick the the unliving crap out of the Death Star I & II, but the Enterprise could own Brolly.

Besides which, wrong forum dickcheese, this shite belongs in Fantasy(As in the Fantasy that DBZ is a decent show).

You can move to Fantasy where Nitram will take fine care of you and we'll get to avail ourselves of the final part of the Site's Motto.

You're absolutely right.Caboose wrote:You guys know that Brolly would kick the the unliving crap out of the Death Star I & II, but the Enterprise could own Brolly.
The Enterprise could do some serious damage to the Death Star.
