Has anyone ever done any? Most of the debating I've seen, people have just called up quotes, the fact that they tear gashes in starship bulkheads, etc. Any response would be appreciated.

Well, I seem to remember someone getting 8 MJ from Han's DL-44 blowing a torso-sized chunk out of the walls in Docking Bay 94 (they assumed it was concrete). But I don't remember where. It was over a year ago now.

Seriously they are within the Search.
The DL-44 wasn't quite 8 MJ...that was the Clonetrooper's Rifle and there are plenty of high and low ends for speed as well.

Really?! Fuck, I searched the archive board and didn't find anything. I apologize.

That comes from the description of the Clonetroopers rifles in AOTC ICS and some assumptions about the strenght of the material it would be blasting.
Better numbers come from the melting/vaporization of holes in battledroid chests (we see how think they are in AOTC) of of Jar Jar melting/vaporizing a chunk of a droideka's leg in TPM. Brian Young got a low end of 2 MJ for the guns on the AT-ST based off some conservative assumptions (see the turbolaser commentaries), Han's pistol has been estimated about the same from the docking bay scene based off the strength of concrete and information on spalling lasers and brick IIRC. Smaller weapons would be in the high KJ range, and one could concievably make an argument that based off sustained firepower, an E-web would rate in the gigawatt range.

A stick of dynamite has about 1 MJ of energy, right?
