What happened at the end of the NJO series?

In particular:
What became of:
- The Imperial Remnant?
- Coruscant?
- Anakin Solo? (Still dead, I take it?)
- The Vong?
etc? Can someone give me a summary? I'm never going to read these books, so ...

1. As in, joined the Galaxy Far Far Away aka the New Republic?
2. Good. Did they move it back from its closer orbit?
3. *shrug*
4. Did they get annihilated militarily? What happened?

Yeah the New Republic...the GFFA is the new name...something Galactic Federation....something.
2. Good. Did they move it back from its closer orbit?
I believe so.
4. Did they get annihilated militarily? What happened?
Pretty much.
I believe there are few rogue warriors lurking about. But essentially the entire warmachine is dismantled and most the Vong are on Zenoma Sekot attuning themselves with the planet.

- The Imperial Remnant?
Allied or part of the GFFA
- Coruscant?
Rebuilding will take several years.
- Anakin Solo? (Still dead, I take it?)
Yes
- The Vong?
Exiled to the Living Planet, "supervised" by several Jedi.
Most of the Galaxy is part of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.
The Hapans, the Remnant, the Bothans, the Mon Calamri abd the Sullustans have gained power while the Hutts, the Kuati, the Corelians and the Ithorians have lost influence and power.
The Jedi Acedemy will be moved to Ossus.

They were part of the big galactic alliance (GFFA). We don't know if their going to become one government, or of the GFFA will dissolve after the war is over, or if it will become like the UN...etc.
- Coruscant?
Wrecked, buildings covered in Vong fungus...it'll take years to remove the funguses and Vong stuff, and the World brain is still part of the planet. Eventually, they'll clean out all the Vong stuff, BUT there will steal be tons of damage.
- Anakin Solo? (Still dead, I take it?)
Yup.
- The Vong?
After the death of the Supreme Overlord the Vong thought that the gods had abandoned them and most of them surrendered, expecting to be executed. Those that surrendered were exiled to Zonama Sekot, the living world that was the descendent of their original homeworld. Those that didn't, the NR would have to mop up.

To sum up the series, in other words:
Trillions dead so that the invaders could become a bunch of worthless beatnick hippies attuning themselves to "Mother Earth" in another guise.

Wait, most of the Vong are living on
one single planet? I thought there were several tens of billions of them?

A very large amount of the warriors were wiped out (a third of their warriors, and this was before the massive battle at Ebaq Nine that had one of the largest Vong fleets in the entire war wiped out, and the battle of Yuuzhan'tar that also had heavy Vong casualties). I'd guess well over half the warriors. Plus, not all the Vong surrendered, and a lot of them still fought to the bitter end.

In the next book series they need to clone Chewbacca, then have Han bribe Luke into doing some arcane Force Ritual to "transfer his soul back in."
W00t! Instant party!
PS: At the end he could catch and eat Boba Fett.

What's the problem, look at Coruscant? Besides, ask yourself whether those fundies are even worth a planet.

I think the skill Transfer Life is considered a Dark Side move, so Luke, who thinks stupid things like "whether a NR that's willing to shoot through refugees (who are going to die anyway as they hit the planetary shield in minutes) is worth saving" in SBS would refuse. Man, I just wanted to barf at that line.
There are at least three parts to the NR. The State, the Party and the People.
The Party wasn't worth saving since at least Borsk Feylya became Chief. The State obviously needs an overhaul to prevent such things from happening again. The most imporant People, however, were the same ones as the ones under the EMpire, under the old Republic. If Luke thinks they were worth saving during the Empire's time, they are still worth saving now.

Man, why did the authors have to turn Luke into such a hacked character to subsidize their contrived, shitty conflicts?

This from the same Luke who force-choked two Gammorean bouncers? Oh no! Dark Side point!
The same Luke who dropped two proton torpedos into the Death Star, and killed how many people - millions? (ironically this would have given Luke a Force Point as per WOTC rules)
The same Luke who joined the new Emperor in an effort to defeat him from within?

He didn't actually kill the Gammorean, so technically he'd be using force choke in defense since they were coming at him with axes.

By that same token shooting through the refugee ships before they can hit the planetary shield and distrupt it is a defensive action as well.

Technically the same standard applies under WEG rules.
Not that I am that strict.

Luke also used force lightning in TUF, iirc.

He used something similar to force lightning (some kind of force energy blast) against one of the genetically engineered superwarriors the Vong had protecting Shimrra (you know, the Slayers?) to save Jacen.

Well, if it means saving someone that's almost my son, I'd
gladly suffer a Dark Side Point and figure out how to clean it up later. I guess Luke finally just realized that he shouldn't be so ... squeamish. The Force is not a trick game where every move that's the slightest bit aggressive is straight to the Dark Side.

Speaking of which, even if they suffered massive casualties, why were they spending generations looking for a galaxy if one or two planets were all that were needed?

Because they are fanatics, and if they were drievn out of their galaxy, it might explain it,
as for the numbers, it was stated in Traitor that Curescant still had a population off 140 billion (dont quote me on that, its been a while)even after some 90+ billion had died, or evacuated, so its no surprise that billons can fit on ZS

I remember a phrase like "OMG our worldships are falling apart we need to find a whole galaxy!!!1111" and the impression they needed lots of worlds to populate. There's no reason why they'd go so far for so long for a few fucking planets

Traitor stated Coruscant had a population of one trillion and at least 900 billion survived the Vong invasion. The real population of Coruscant is at least in the hundreds of trillions, and more realistically a order of magnitude more. This is achieved though by things like mile high buildings and being dependent on other worlds for supplies. Both things Zemarg Shitbag cannot have.
