Is The Dreadnaught too small for it crew?

Post by Lord Revan »

Since the Dreadnaught heavy cruiser is only about 600 long. Is it too small for its stated crew and troop capacity (16.000 men+ 3.000 troopers)? To put this to perspective the Acclamator class Transport is about 150 m longer, has greater volume due to its shape and length, has crew of 700 and troop capacity of 16.000.

Depends on the usable volume, I guess.

A modern day CVN at ~300 meters, has a crew of around 1000. So for sheer size, its possible.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

If you put troop decks into the Jahre Viking (460 meters long, 70 meters wide and I forget how deep but very deep, when fully loaded down with oil she can't enter most harbors) how many people could you get in there?

Isn't Knife a former marine? If so, M16 trumps sword. (no matter how pretty a name it has) ;)

Gun trumps sword unless you're seeing Knife currently not holding said gun.

The Dreadnaught-class was originally intended to be a patrol and defensive cruiser or picket prowling the sectors of the old Republic. It may have been away from port and support for more extended periods than the Acclamator-class, a non-combatant acting from the support of whole invasion fleets.
