Hurrah! i love how they don't give a shit about street release dates in Ireland!

I probably won't get to watch any of it today though since I have to go out with people tonight and the like.

But Hurrah none the less.

It appears that England gets them a day before the States.

I reserved my copy from Amazon back in March when it first because available, but I might have to wait as long as the week after next to get it becaue I chose the "Super Saver" free shipping method.

Gah... :( At least I have THX 1138 to tide me over for now, and maybe Volume 2 of Eva Platinum, which also comes out on the 21st.

Since you apparently don't know this, I'll let you in on a fun little fact... the Best Buy over by Lindale doesn't care about official release dates for anime titles.

Because I just got back from there, and I have Platinum Vol 2.

HMV are planning to open at 00.01 on the day of release, gess who's gonna be 1st in line at HMV Belfast? The waits is worse than waiting for TMP and AotC combined.

I am currently following a wait and see approach on this set.

Indeed. I'm perfectly happy with my VHS copies if the special features suck, or just plain aren't worth it. Yes, yes, better sound and picture quality, but that alone isn't worth ~100 bucks.

I'm just fucking pissed that there is no option to see the origional versions like you get to do in the new Alien series box sets. A lack of deleted scenes also scores a negative in my book. And of course, there's probably gonna be a bigger more uber boxed set coming out after ROTS, so why spend money on this one?

Because they'll do a boxset of just the Prequels as well, and I don't want both trilogies in one box. :P

I already bought two box sets from Lucas. I don't think I'm going to be buying another one, thanks. :)

Actually, the StarWars OT on VHS and the Special Edition on VHS (which wasn't my idea, but I ended up pitching in for it anyway).

I'm not taking another shot in the mouth from the Flanneled One. :x

Which self-respecting starwars fan would get anything else but widescreen format?

Also, the 2hr 30min documentary "Empire of Dreams" is well worth the price alone, not to mention the DVDs are the best SW has ever looked.

Interviews with cast members, production crew, screen tests with famous actors who didn't get the parts (Kurt Russell tested for Han Solo) .... erm ... lots really.
