I like the idea of the Star Defender. It's basically a Star Battlecruiser, but has a PC name. I think that it's important to verisimilitude to have a society that doesn't just name everything in neat, easy categories. I may not like the PC reason, but it does characterise the NR, and that's VERY important for a writer.

Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser. I like the comparative simplicity of the design.
If the games count, the Dauntless cruiser. I really dig the look of that thing.

Although not an actual ship i loved the Pulsar Station idea from Isards Revenge. A mini Deathstar Cap Ship Killer. Amazing idea.

Nitpick: that ship is no mere Star Battlecruiser, it is a full-fledged Star Battleship

I really am partial to the K-Wing and the Republic Star Destroyer.

Seriously, may I ask what the difference is? And also, what details does the Star Defender have? Ship size, crew, number of TLs, fighter complement, troop complement, etc?

I like the K-wing. I haven't heard of the Republic SD? Where's that from? And again, details, please... part of the fun of these sorts of threads is you can go into the specs of your faves.

The Viscount is over twice the size of the Mediator -- described as a battlecruiser. All other details are unknown.

Republic essentially is a 1250m-long Star Destroyer with firepower in between the ISD1 and ISD2 yet half the cost of the ISD2. As with most NRDF designs her endurance is relatively low but IMHO she's a fine design. However, she's probably expensive.

I liked the fighter as it appears in NEGTV&V (amazing as it sounds).

Best all time EU craft, IMO is the YT 2000. Awesome design.
