Did C3P0 and R2D2 get memory wiped after ROTS?

I was wondering about this, could Obi Wan wiped 3PO and R2's memories after ROTS to hide evidence of the existence of the twins from Vader? Maybe that can explain why R2 and 3PO didn't recognize the Lars homestead when they first got there in ANH, as well as the Skywalker name. :?

3PO would have had to have been wiped for a lot of his dialog to make sense, but I always got the feeling that R2 knew more than he let on.

my opinion is that R2D2, while he has his faults, is a resourceful droid that has a mind of his own and probably can be trusted with important information. also its been over 20 years since the droids have been near the lars farm. C-3PO would probably blab to save his own curcuits so he would be memory wiped with enough knowledge retained so if he does come across something from the his masters past, he can take appropriate action.

also in kenobi's hut when obi wan retrieves anakins old lightsaber he requests to shut down possibly to preserve secrets.

another possibility is that the droids have lost the knowledge about the lars.

in ANH, when Owen sees C-3PO there seems to be a tad of recognition but not to the point that he fully recognises 3PO

owen has prolly seen a lot of droids in 20 yrs. if I understand anh correctly, a lot of the farm workers are droids.

Owen never does ask 3PO his name when he bought him from the Jawas. Plus, 3PO looks differant. Owen does seem to recognize the model of the droid, perhaps that is why he asks 3PO about his abilities instead of his name.

When he was on the farm the first time, he wasn't Gold yet.

Don't all C-3P0 models look like that? Except for the color of the "skin" R-3P0 and I think even TC-14 looked like him.

Pretty much, as far as I know. I'm not sure if the M-3P0, a specialized military unit, was a genuine CG product or a cobbled-together makeshift droid. I don't know of any besides the one attached to Rogue Squadron, and only the head was different.

The Essential Guide to Droids says that the M-3P0 is a genuine product, however Emtrey, the one attached to Rogue Squadron, was cobbled together from three different M-3P0 units on Hoth.
