Hi,
Does anyone who has captured scrrenshots and/or done calculations have any figures for the size of the Death Star's superlaser beam (the main cumulative beam, not the tributary ones):?:

Thanks.

You just skipped the main website to come here instead of doing research, didn't you?

Go to the main site, click site index, and look at the bits titled Death Star and Alderaan for your clips/SS

1^38 J to destroy a planet with the same level of violence as the DS

Despite my low post count and recent joining date, I am a long term visitor (lurker probably being more accurate) to SD.net So no, I did not skip the main site and am fully aware of its contents.
Perhaps my phrasing of the question was ambiguous. What I meant was if anyone had calculated/measured the actual size (i.e. diameter) of the cumulative beam shot form from either the DS1 or DS2, and if so, to let me know their figures.

Thanks.

I see. A better way to put that would have been calculations on the dimensions of the superlaser's pulse. I am however not aware of any.

Judging from the internal footage, I would say ~2m for a tributary beam.

The shot from DS2 is something like 20 to 30 m in diameter at the core, compared with Liberty. The rest is glow. I haven't bothered to scale it properly.

He means actual size, not yield.
