Jedi destroying planets

Has there been an instance anywhere in Star Wars literature where a Jedi (or group of jedi) has destroyed a planet purely with the force, and I mean directly as well, firing a beam from his hand or creating a force storm that does it. The most powerful force feats I've heard of were Naga Sadow destroying stars with the force, would a nova or supernova destroy the entire solar system it occurs in?

Not that I know of.

Yes, but I believe Sadow used Sith tech to do it.

A large group of Jedi managed to set the jungles of Yavin 4 aflame, and Sadow could manipulate solar flares via the force. But using the force to destroy planet has never been shown. Tech has always been necessary for this to occur.

Unless that Sith Lord could send a solar flare to a planet...somehow...

No Jedi has ever destroyed a planet. A vast number of Dark-Siders did destroy all life complex life on a planet in the backstory for the Valley of the Jedi. One of the Palpatine clones also created a Force-storm that eventually destroyed the Eclipse and several smaller ships, but to my knowledge those are the most powerful Force-techniques ever observed.

Palpy may have developed that level of power eventually as he seemed to be growing in power as he went from clone to clone but he finally died before he got that far.

The "Brotherhood of Darkness" Sith leftovers numbered 20,000 strong at the end of the last pre-prequel Sith war. On Ruusan, the Jedi army clashed with the Sith followers in seven land battles, and slaughtered them in all but two of the seven engagements. The Sith Lord, Kaan, was somewhat of an idiot and insisted in straight combat against the better-trained and more-powerful man-for-man Jedi army. I believe one of the battles the Sith followers won was thanks to the inginuity of Lord Darth Bane, who would be the only survivor of the battles of Ruusan, and would found the "only two" Sith Order that would spawn Palpatine. Bane and a group of Sith used the Force to ignite a firestorm and consume a Jedi advance through a forest, where as the idiot Kaan wanted to fight straight.
Bane eventually left, and Kaan and the remaining Sith barricaded in subterranian hide-outs and waited for the Jedi to come one last time. They used the Force in a so-called "thought bomb" that killed all the sentients on Ruusan, if I'm not mistaken. Bane was the only survivor IIRC.

No, and I don't think it would be possible, unless you havea few hundred million. I think some of these Jedi feats are part of a brain bug.

Brain bug or not, they're official facts. And remember the infamous quote from Vader.

Another brainbug is interpreting that quote as Vader saying that the Force can blow up planets

Vader: Don't be too proud of this technological terror you have constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant to the power of the Force.

"The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant to the power of the Force"
The power of the Force -> able to destroy a planet.
The power of the Force is insignificant to the power of the Force.
