Palpatine's next plan?

This may have been asked before, but what was Palpatine planning to do after the Rebellion had been crushed? Let's say the Rebellion was wiped out in the Battle of Endor, wahat would the Empire do then? No one was in his way. He was the man of the hour.
And since I'v never read any of the books, I don't know of any new threats.

Well their was the Vong, which would have been stomped in a month. I think in between then and between hen during those 25 years he would have carved up the Unknowns Region.

His plan was to restablish the Sith Empire.
The military would be consolidated firmly under the Grand Admirals, who would in turn be under the control of Palpatine and his Military Exector. The Moff and Grand moffs would steadily be phased out for Dark Jedi overlords instead. Military production would have increased, and eventually he would have stopped forbidding colonization and would have moved on, expanding fully into the UR. Eventual long term plans have been hinted at that he wanted to make it an intergalactic Empire, but that is pure speculation from Rebel Intellegence.

Now give the Vong some credit here. While the Empire could definitely deal with them (not to mention the NR, had it actually acted), it wouldn't be a
month-long campaign; the Vong fleet started out absolutely huge and one must not discount the insane, suicidal warrior ethic of the Vong. The Empire would surely come out on top in the end, but the Vong would take more than a few planets and a hefty chunk of the Imperial fleet with them.

You mean the Dark Empire Sourcebook, IIRC?

Here's how I'd see it. If Luke turned at Endor and the Rebel force was more or less completely destroyed, including Leia's death.
1. (6 months after Battle of Endor) Palpatine begins training Luke to replace Vader as his Sith Apprentice and Military Executor. Palpatine orders that the DS II's construction rate be doubled. Bakura is crushed by the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium and Palpatine gets his Ssi-ruuvi Battle Droids to experiment with as part of their deal (I'll have to get the source for that, but I'm sure of it).
2. (2-3 years after the Battle of Endor) Darth [insert Sith Lord name here] aka Luke Skywalker, Sith Apprentice, faces his final test by eliminating Emperor's Hand and aspiring Sith acolyte Lumiya. Becomes Dark Lord and is given the DS II and Death Squadron w/ Jerjerrod to finish Palpatine's business. The Ssi-ruuk are annhiliated. Calamari is reduced to expanding rubble, as is Sullust and Kashyyyk. Palpatine solidifies his power and takes a new clone body.
3. (7-9 years after the Battle of Endor) Grand Admiral Thrawn returns, having completed the subjugation of the Unknown Regions and the formation of a Chiss-Imperial hegemony of the galactic halo. Executor-class is superceded by the Soveriegn-class in high-priority regions of the galaxy. World Devestator fleets commissioned. A few Moffs and Admirals are subtlely replaced by Dark Side Adepts from Byss. Colonization is encouraged and and permitted throughout Wild Space and the edge of the Unknown Regions.
4. (22 years after the Battle of Endor) Yuuzhan Vong enter galactic disk at an angle from the galactic plane, bypassing the Unknown Regions in the galactic halo. Grand Admiral Thrawn immediately heads to Yuuzhan Vong "vector prime"--the invasion entry point and studies his enemies, allowing them to sieze a pair of sectors. Lord Darth [insert name here] arrives with his personal flagship Eclipse II and Death Squadron, the Death Star II, and the World Devestator fleets. The occupied sectors are encircled by the Chiss-Imperial forces from the outside, and Thrawn/Skywalker's fleets on the inside. The Vong die, by the quadrillions. Fleet losses are considerable, but acceptable. The Eclipse II and one of the Devestator fleets are lost, and the Death Star II suffers light damage.
5. (30 years after the Battle of Endor) The Unknown Regions have been almost entirely assimilated and colonized. Almost all of the Moffs have been replaced by the Dark Side Adepts, as well as a significant number of Admirals and Grand Admirals. All forces in the UR have been brought under Imperial control or have been destroyed. The Chiss remain s significant and an important Imperial protectorate due to their assistence to Thrawn and the Imperial cause in the past. Shipyards and bases in the still uncolonized and secluded regions of the galactic halo prepare for the invasion of the nearest spiral galaxy within five years.

The Vong fleet wasn't really large at all, compared to the industrial potential that we know the Empire has. Against the sort of numbers thet could be produced in 20 years of constant production they would be doing incredibly well to last a month.

Perhaps, but the Imperials would act quickly, and contain the opponent, defeating him at the Empeor's chosen pace. But I dunno if Plpatine would establish a Ne Sith Empire. Thousands of Dark Jedi running around, power hungry would have eventualy want nPalpatine's throne, and Palpatine would defeat him, granted, but the Dark Jedi would take alot of shit with them, if they lost, selfdestructing their power bases. You can't fear a Dark Side Forcie Aloctyes from sheer power, not even Palpatine their thujrst is too great. My chhoice would be a few, trusted Dark Jedi too deal in all Force Matters needing attention.

I say eventually Skywalker and Vader take over.
Then they literally destroy the Emperor's clone bodies...and establish themselves as the Lords of the Sith, and pretty much ramp up ship construction and then assimilate the UR.
Keep the Empire as is since Sith are just as power hunrgy and nasty as they are...Moffs are much easier to control.
By the Time the Vong come...they slaughter them within the month. Rememeber this is an Empire which has prepared and solidified it's power base and an obviously hostile Alien threat...they would crush faster than the Rebellion...and with a lot more force.

Ghost Rider, true especially since the Vong fights convential, and relies on numbers too, both advantages they don't have...

Hell the Vong almost rely upon suicide manuvering.
I mean something one should truly consider...the NR is a peace keeping force maintained to in general keep the peace. The Empire is there to enforce their peace.
I mean at Palp's time he had only a Death Star(2 really) and 25,000 ISDs...now think of 30 years of no real enemies. They would have possibly thousands to nearly millions more ISDs and pretty much a DS in the Neighborhodd to insure that the peace is maintained.
I mean think of what the first Vong meeting would be...after a small fleet is destroyed...the Empire would send uncountable forces to insure their reign and the fact that these beings dare to strike at Imperial ships...this is not the bickering whining NR, this is the Empire and they fell only because Palp fell...with no such thing over them this time...sorry the Vong are as much a footnote as the Rebellion would've been.

You're right, he did plan on enlisting selected Dark Siders for his bidding and this is in the EU. The Inquisitorious helped Vader hunt down the Jedi and also purged dangerous other Force Users like Witches and renegade/traitorous Dark Jedi. The Emperor's Hand carried out Palpatine's personal directives, and the Dark Side Adepts were the specialized Force Users who'd replace the Moffs and help solidify Palpatine's rule.

He would have moved on to conquer the entire Galaxy, with the Unknown Regions and Ssi-Ruuk. He would have consolidated his hold on power, and prepared for the YV invasion.

I know about the EU & Palpatin'es Forcies. Really about the Alocyte replacements? I know in DE II his 1 Aloctyes go evil, on his Clone, and Sedriss has too deck them good. Only 12 now, imagine a million of them aganist Palpatine. But anyway, could you cite the evidence about Palpatine's replacement program if any.

Almost forgot,
what was life like in the Empire? We don't really get a good example, we see fringe worlds, and military bases, but what about important planets, or ones that are protected by the Empire normally. Like Naboo.
Or more importantly, what is life on Coruscant like during the Empire's reign?

Vong: New enemy of the SW universe...loves Bio-tech
SSi-riuv: Biotech enemy in Truce at Bakura
Life under the Empire...life under the Republic with Guys in White suits wandering around...as for the racism agenda for the Empire...I suppose it was there since Lucas wanted the Empire to be evil...but it's alittle hard to say since canon showed little to no thought into this arena.

And Lennox brings up a good point...he had to also control these freaks personally under his eyes on Byss.
I doubt he trusted any of them farther than that except a rare few like Vader and Sedriss.
Honestly he would be a fool to try to make Sith wannabes as his new governor given that their powerlust is nearly as great as his.

The Adepts were pathetic. Since Palpatine was dead, and he wasn't supposed to die, it was really a meaningless contingency. Normally they would've stayed in their place. The Adepts were poor fighters and their graps of the Dark Side was only what Palpatine wanted it to be. They were no where near a even half-way decent Dark Jedi.
Any tretchery was to be handled by the Inquistorious anyway, that was what they were for: eliminating Force Users that were an obsticle to Palpatine's will.
Regardless of what you think Palpatine would've done, his eventual plans outlined in the notes in the Trade Paperback of Dark Empire and in the Dark Side Sourcebook was to reduce the Empire to a totalitarian state and slowly twist it into his version of the Sith Empire. The rosy "Palpatine wasn't so bad" horseshit spewed by Empire-lovers is delusional. Palpatine planned to more or less eventually reduce the galaxy to his peons. The Adepts would replace the Admirals and the Moffs, and his direct control would usurp everything and the Dark Side would dominate the galaxy.

Only two betrayed Palpatine; he was training over a thousand to replace all those sector Moffs. That's a good success rate. They were stupid and weak so if they did betray Palpatine, they'd be of no concern, which they weren't.
Palpatine knew what he was doing.

Hmmm:
Pg. 129: Despite his advances and intricate technological methods of annihilation, the actions of mankind remained unnoticeable to an uncaring, unimaginably vast universe. If Vader's grandest plans ever came to pass, all that would change.
