Do all the Vong look like they fucked a Lawnmower, or does the natural form of the Vong look someone didn't use the body for improvised candle.

IIRC Vong ritually scar themselves to show rank, so a general would look like he'd been run over by a lawnmower, while a normal soldier would have the equivalent of a few tatoos.

I just got the Unifying Force so wanted to know something about the main bad guys (no spoilers).

IIRC TUF is the last book, why are you skipping the rest?

You missed quite a lot there. A TON of characters died through the course of the series.

There's also a lot of stuff in there that is hard to understand without reading the other books.

Any other questions?

You basicly skipped out on a personally great series, might want to start all the way back, Or with Star By Star.

*shiver*

Vector Prime is the worst book in the entire series. Read it just to save yourself the money of buying it, then look for Dark Tide I.

Also, up untill Star By Star is has some issue's, but basicly.. if you wanted scale, NJO is truly the god of that, 10000 ships attacking Courscant, massive battles.

Actually, it skimmed over the Coruscant Battle, so it could waste that space that should have gone to it to describing the Voxyn Hunt. Ugh. But then, considering the person writing it didn't even have the courage to write up the speeches the commanding officers used, I'm almost glad she didn't write the battle.

If I want to see a grand fleet battle, I'd go read Marina O' Leary's DiG :D

It was at least an enjoyable book. Sure there could been more battle over Coruscant but then again that really wan't much of the thrust of the series while the Voxyn hunt definitely was a part of the whole Force blah they were trying for.

And Troy is a she?

Damn bearded women :P

OK, so my intuitive guess of Sex based on Name didn't work!

Just by eliminating one or two of maybe a dozen blurbs on the Jedi Voxyn Hunt, Coruscant could have been written in much more detail (and since there was so much on the Jedi already, cutting a bit from them won't hurt 'em much).

They can, for instance, cut out that rather useless blurb about the Dark Jedi selling them out and stealing the ship. It didn't advance the story much, if any. Do we really need another "Dark Jedi are baaaaaddddd" blurb?

Probably not, but I chalked it up to the author having little idea of space battles and really we don't know.

Perhaps he has some in depth knowledge and was an lover of Jedi or he had only a very cursory knowledge and cut his loses.

At least he didnt write space battles like KJA dose.

The Voxyn hunt wasnt all that bad although the dark jedi thing did go no where.

yeah, i didn't want to start another whole topic for this question:

Is it true that Boba Fett has summons some kind of Mandalorian army who fights off the Yuhzahn Vong? heard it on another forum. Note that some guys on that same forum thought maul could take on Tyrannus ( ), so i'm not too sure of its validity.

The Guy is on crack, full crack.

Personally the battle was okey, trying to describe it would have lead to something the size of Marina's fic just for the battle, and that just gets slow. You try covering a massive battle in high detail, its too much.

Whats nice in the NJO that I didn't notice in other EU books is scale and abit of high speed combat, like ships coming in at near light speed, and abit more of a look at newtonian physics then other books.

Not summon an army per se........... just appeared to help the resistance fight against the Yuzhan Vong.

The description of him was pretty cool...... Han Solo finally gets to see Boba Fett unhelmeted.

I know that bit gets mentioned at the end of The Unifying Force, but is the scene in any of the books previous to that, in greater detail?

I'm wondering, if the other guys were proper Mandalorians, or did Fett just get some local talent equipped in some knock-offs of his own armour?

what is a Mandalorian? are they a race by themselves? i always thought they were just humans, only they came from "mandalor". like humans from correllia are "correllians".

is a mandalorian just some tribe member? so any old guy with some talent could be one, so long as he's accepted into the tribe?

that's what one person i've heard says. he says there was a wookie wearing mandalorian armor that was part of Fett's resistance.

The Mandalorian are militaristic (Human) clans united by a person or a clan called Mandalore (the family name of a Mandalorian is the name of clan (s)he's from and also the name of their Homeworld). And at least in TUF Boba Fett's warriors were all human/humanoid. as for Mandalorian armor, it's just armor made by the Mandalorian
