He's scheduled to. I have my doubts,
Vision of the Future was to be his last Star Wars novel. He simply had gotten sick of crappy stories, mangeling of his characters by others, and the general suckiness of the EU. Plus he wanted nothing to do with the New Jedi Order.
He is writing a prequel novel with Thrawn in I think.
He is scheduled to write another duology to bridge the events from TPM and AOTC. Thrawn in all likelyhood, will not be in it. On the upside, it's likely to have Garm Bel Iblis.
Whether or not the deal will hold or not is a open question. It's not supposed to come out until 2004, probably Christmas season.

Cool. Zahn is and always has been the best SW writer IMO.

The info's from
http://theforce.net/books/bookschedule.shtml. The bit about his new SW book is at the very bottom of the page.
The VotF info was also from Force.net but since the situation has changed, they've apparently taken down the page. I only remember that bit of information from around the time VotF was published.

While I love the fact that Zahn is returning, I mourn that I do not see any novels by Aaron Allston in the future...

It's hard to make a living writing SW books. They are almost guaranteed to sell several hundred thousand copies, but they have great difficulty selling a million. Generally for publishers, one million copies is a milestone. If you can sell a million books, then they will reward the author. If they cannot, they give the author pittance.
I would imagine that it would suck to be Timothy Zahn, because so many other people come in and screw around with your characters with no regard for what made them important or special.

Uhh they get paid royalties per book sold, they make a fair whack out of SW.

I it did. After his last series, he had orginally intended to leave the Star Wars EU. Frankly, I wouldn't have blamed him one bit. Some of his best characters were given a royal screw job by certain authors (KJA leading the pack) and he didn't want that happening.

It's usually a stepped scale in publishing. The lower levels make less per book than best sellers. It's a simple fact of life.
